Ok chinese food place Originally came here because I saw the Laksa photos online on yelp which looked great! However the inside of the place is not that clean, especially the bathroom which really needs some circulation. The renovation is ok, with nice dark lighting. Service is ok. Food is kind of blend, but portion is big. Price is also ok. Unfortunately after my baby ate here he got a full body of rash. So I will not be able to come back again

Ordered online for pickup. App says the meal is being prepared and will be ready in 20 mins. I waited in my car. At about 18 mins, I received a call that my order has been cancelled. Two minutes before I'm supposed to pick up the meal. Never got to try the food after all. One star for the service. If you are out of capacity, you should have stopped taking orders, or canceled the order right way, instead of keeping your customer waiting.

This is the best authentic Chao Zhou style rice noodle wrap and porridge spot in town. I love the Laksa noodle soup as well. Small seating area offers great food selections. They use tiger shrimp for the rice noodle wrap. Very good quality?

SoHoMei is pretty new and going for teow chow cuisine. Parents and i went, tried out their teowchow oyster pancake, cuttlefish ball seaweed soup, special seafood noodle soup and the shrimp&pork rice roll. All the dishes were very good portions and in hindsight, should've ordered three things instead of four. Oyster pancake and cuttle fishball soup was pretty good. The other two were meh. Total came out $70 (tax and tip included), so very reasonably price given amount of food in SF. Service was ok though there was only one person working. The ambiance was simple and things were generally clean. Will return for take out on the things i like.

I came here twice and I give this place 5 star review. This place seems to be another ordinarily Chinese place, but their quality and portion of food are bigger and better than anticipated. I had Laska vermicelli and the bowl was big. The broth was tasty. It can become my comfort food. They also participate in senior program where seniors cam have discounts. I would come here more often.

This is a hidden gem in the Sunset! Wow! Big portions! Kind servers. And fair price! The stand outs for us were (honestly) everything! The porridge was rich and silky with nuggets of duck. The oyster cake was FILLED with tons of oysters. The egg with preserved turnip was so tasty - the nice richness of egg with the crispy turnips to add texture. The laksa was a GIGANTIC portion. And finally the steamed rice roll was chefs kisses. A definite try if you're ever in this part of town.

Came here for lunch on a weekday - wanted to try the Chinese/Vietnamese dishes. We had the laksa (it was fine, not outstanding) and the chicken rice (was ok, quite bony and not like chicken meets rice type of chicken rice). Might try to fried oyster omelette next time. Overall average restaurant.

Delicious food and nice easy simple menu. Oyster cake is a wonderful appetizer, comes with pepper fish sauce if you want extra saltiness. Duck porridge is smooth and comforting for a cold day. Bone is what gives it the flavor so expect to spit them out. Not much meat in there. Also has mushrooms and ginger in it.Laksa noodle soup is a big bowl! This is a more mild taste but good. Love the size of the bowls here! Bathroom in back left. Street parking.Takeout available. Very short staffed. Only 2 people taking orders, cooking, cleaning, bussing tables so be nice! Could take a while to get a table since they're busy in the kitchen and haven't cleaned tables yet. 15% gratuity automatically calculated on bill, may apply to takeouts too. I hope for the best for this restaurant. Happy to see someone serving good teochew food! Very rare.

We was looking for a porridge place, yelp pointed to the one across the street as number 1 on it list. As we park our car and walk, we see this place. The chao zhou rice roll caught my wife attention. She is from chao zhou. We when in and ask if for porridge. As we look at the menu, I recall this place use to be a Vietnamese pho place. And remember that it use to suck so bad that I never return after one try. I am part Vietnamese. And hate anything not authentic. We order chao zhou style pork and persevere egg porridge, chao zhou style beef and beef ball flat noodle, oyster pancake, and half a chicken baked. The noodle are on point, my kids ate most of it. The porridge are amazing. I like the pancake my wife didn’t. The gelatin in the pancake have to be there to keep the oyster in one piece. So nothing wrong with that. We got too full to eat all of the chicken. But the service was good fast and polite. The food are definitely authentic. It bring back my memories of eating noodle in my wife’s hometown. Yes it is similar to pho but the soup is what made it different. Btw pho probably came from chao zhou. We will be back to try the rice roll, maybe for lunch for rice roll is a better fit.

Not much of a wait on a weeknight, so we got seated right away. The interior is modern and cozy; good place for a casual meal. The staff took our orders and brought us tea/water quickly. We ordered: - (E1) Chao Zhou Pan Fried Oyster Cake: there were 4 pieces with a big oyster in each piece. The pancake is egg-based and very yummy if you love eggs. Seems to be a popular dish to try!- (N1) SoHoMei Signature Laksa Vermicelli: my fave from the 3 dishes we ordered! So flavorful and not that spicy even tho it looks like it might be. They don't skimp on the ingredients, would recommend trying it!- (P5) Shrimp and Pork Shantou Steamed Rice Roll: first time trying steamed rice roll where the roll is chewy rather than soft. It was an interesting and new texture (not in a bad way). I think this style of rice roll is from a different region than the types I'm used to. Overall, I would recommend this place which has a variety of dishes like porridge, steamed rice noodles, rice plates and noodle soups. Portions are generous and shareable so you can try different dishes!

Let me start by saying that I hate writing bad reviews. We called in an order and were told 15-20min. Okay, cool. We waited a bit at home and got there probably like 30-40 min later and it still wasn't ready. Okay... new restaurant kinks maybe? We waited another 15min. The order came to $75. Card handed over and guy comes back with the confirmation being $85. Um, excuse me? You said $75? All he said was "tip."Now I'm not a stingy person or a stingy tipper, but to assume and include a tip that YOU think is appropriate for a take out order is bad business practice. You are tipping yourself?? S H A D Y!!And while waiting for our food, a dine in table put ZERO for their tip - that is telling of their service as well. All of this to say that their food wasn't even good for the price. The "oyster pancake" was more of a slimy omelet. The noodle soups were unremarkable and honestly are better at PPQ, Kevin's or Yummy Yummy. I am usually okay with keeping bad reviews to myself especially with new restaurants, but if you're going to be shady to customers, you don't deserve our business.
