Came highly recommended by a friend and did not disappoint. Falafels are top quality. Service was excellent. Lots of seating and even an outlet to charge my phone. Good lighting, clean, spacious. Restroom for customers. I got the vegan falafel wrap deluxe. My personal preference is to have more vegetables in the wrap like more tomato, red onion, cucumber, and yogurt to introduce more flavors like tartness, sharpness, and brightness but I can also see how I got the max falafel in a wrap possible, which is great value too. I looked back at the menu and saw ingredients listed included all the things I was wishing there were more of, including eggplant, but I don’t remember tasting much of this when I ate the wrap and would personally prefer an altered ratio with more vegetables but that’s just me. Would go back and recommend to friends.

Falafel wrap was a great size- see my picture comparing it to a glass of water!

Right next to the Orpheum theater so it’s a great idea to grab a bite before or after a show here (that’s what we did)!

I love this place! The family is so nice and welcoming. The food is really good it tastes like home and the atmosphere is great very family friendly. This is the go to place for Mediterranean food in the bay. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting sf!

Absolutely loved this place! The food was incredibly delicious, bursting with authentic Mediterranean flavors that took me right back to my hometown of Istanbul. The restaurant is spotless and inviting, with a warm, friendly atmosphere that truly feels like a family-run gem. The staff were kind and attentive, making the experience even more memorable. Even the mayor of San Francisco, Daniel Laurie, is a fan of this spot. That says it all. I will definitely be coming back!

Great food and atmosphere, staff very nice. The Turkish tea and baklava is really good. I also had the beef lamb gyro plate and loved it.

Terrific place to grab a quick bite before our matinee at the Orpheum. We both got the lamb & beef gyro wrap since we didn't want to bring leftovers to the theater. It was filled with meat, lettuce, tomato and plenty of sauce. Hot sauce was available on the side though I like mild. It was filling and the perfect size. Not the best I've had but very good.

Solid Mediterranean takeout and counter serve place. It's nothing fancy but the food is served quick, hot, and tastes good

I almost only write good reviews:
This gyro was very dry and flavourless. I struggled eating it but I was hungry. Within 30mins I started to feel unwell. I think that the food is about as bad as you can get in this city and is pretty expensive.
I hope the owner works on having fresh meat and not skimping massively on the sauce.
I do not think you should give your business to a shop that does not try to make a good product.

Food is as dry as a nunnery, just absolutely horrible in every way. Never going back here.
Extremely difficult to chew through.
Requires dedicated jaw power to get through the gyro.

The owner tried to over charge me, luckily I caught him out and got him to adjust.

Disgraceful flavour (or lack of), absolutely murdered $20 right out of my pocket.

Wouldn’t go back here if my life depended on it.

Don’t dream of ever coming here.

It's my favorite restaurant in the area, Healthy food and good taste. I also love baklava. I've never tasted anything like it, even in Türkiye. It's the best ever.

I work nearby and my favorite lunch is their mini pizza. It's located in the refrigerated display case, and they heat it up for you. It comes with a little salad, and it's a perfect little lunch, not too filling. I highly recommend it! Their other dishes are tasty, too, but are on the larger side. With tip, it's just under $12.

We were warmly welcomed by the owner at the beginning and shown to our seats. We had plenty of time to look through the menu and then ordered a Kofta Kebab plate and a Chicken Gyros plate. The food was prepared quickly, we didn’t have to wait long, and it was absolutely delicious.

We have been enjoying the delicious food at Gyro King for over 15 years and have always been completely sated. The restaurant offers a wide variety of Turkish offerings from gyro wraps to kebabs and they always feature a daily special. The portions are very large so you won't go away hungry.

A word about the few unwarranted negative reviews that I suspect are fakes. In any case these reviews are highly suspect and do not reflect how truly great the food is.

It would be difficult to have a chunky shawarma wrap since the meat is shaved off. And I am suspicious about the review that complained about a massively fatty chicken in a shawarma wrap. Another reviewer wrote that they hadn't even tasted the food and based their 3-star review saying that if the salmon special had been only $16 Gyro King would have received 5-star review. In what restaurant is anyone in SF going to find such a delicious salmon special for only $16?
