Happy Shabu Shabu Reviews
Jo's awesome. We had a great experience. Highly recommended for birthdays or just being together 👯♀️💯👍
Every place was closing at 9 and my wife was so hangry that she had a “divorce” look in her eye. After going to an incredibly pretentious and overpriced restaurant very close by we were still hungry and passed by Happy Shabu Shabu. It was great and jo, the owner was not only doing everything herself but was very welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious and, most importantly, put my wife in a much better mood. Skip the overpriced nonsense and go here for a great meal.

Happy Shabu Shabu in San Francisco offers a warm and inviting Japanese hot pot dining experience. Known for its high-quality meats and authentic atmosphere, the restaurant provides a comfortable environment with friendly service. Host Jo greets everyone warmly, adding to the welcoming vibe. The restaurant has a casual yet intimate setting, with each table partially screened for privacy, making it ideal for laughter and conversation without too much noise. Though it can get busy, attentive staff are always available to explain the ordering and cooking process and offer helpful recommendations. The miso broth remains popular for its flavor, and the "hot" broth choices are not overly spicy, with a spicy dipping sauce available for extra flavor.
Guests enjoy the beautifully presented wagyu for two, which comes with a veggie platter, and many find the experience to be excellent value for money. The staff, including a robot at times, maintain a kind and warm atmosphere. Happy Shabu Shabu is a clean, personable spot filled with character, making it a great place for a memorable and delicious meal. It is especially favored for its personal hot pot options and the Sukiyaki, which evokes a sense of being back in Japan. Its convenient location in the Japantown area makes it a popular choice among locals and visitors alike.
