Harborview Restaurant & Bar

I attended a private party during Happy Hour here last night. The staff was so friendly and helpful especially the bartender Eric. The food and drinks were amazing. The location is perfect!

Food was so bad. Worst Cantonese food I have ever had. Servers were not helpful and charged mandatory 18% service fee even at bar table. Really noisy on Friday night.

Disappointing Service Overshadowed Good Food

While much of the food at Harborview Restaurant & Bar was genuinely delicious, the service was so poor that it completely overshadowed the experience.

From the start, the ordering process felt fragmented and rushed. Items were forgotten, drinks and dishes arrived extremely late—or not at all—and we repeatedly had to flag someone down just to ask where our food was. To make matters worse, dishes were cold when brought out and clearly sat too long before being served, side dishes were brought out far in advance of the entrées, leaving them cold by the time the main courses arrived, or forcing us to eat them on their own.

We were also overcharged for tea—billed for seven people when we ordered one pot and one cup.

Throughout the meal, we watched other parties arrive, place orders, receive elaborate dishes (including whole fried crabs), eat, and leave before we were properly served. It was frustrating and disappointing, especially given the restaurant’s reputation and prime location near the Ferry Building.

Perhaps most disappointing was the lack of apology or accountability. No one seemed particularly concerned about the delays or mistakes.

I would not recommend Harborview to anyone visiting downtown San Francisco. With so many excellent dining options nearby, you can absolutely find food that is just as good—if not better—paired with attentive and professional service elsewhere.

Great varieties of dishes and most importantly delish! Staff are friendly and fast to respond. Great value especially if you have a large party to share dishes with.

Always a good time at Harborview. Food is good and a little pricier, but you pay for the quality. If you share on socials, you get $10 off your total bill!

Sunday Dim Sum is the best. Asian fusion food. Excellent service + outdoor seating.
