Hook Fish is an absolute gem. I’m not sure what drove some of these reviewers to be so critical of delicious seafood but maybe they’ll work that out in therapy at some point. Will there be a line? Yes, probably, but it moves pretty fast, and they’re going to give you a little fob that will vibrate when your order is ready, so all you’ll have to do is hang out , have a drink maybe, and enjoy some conversation with friends, or perhaps strangers that are also fresh fish enthusiasts. The poke burrito is as outstanding as it is gigantic. Make sure you try some of that tasty carrot hot sauce they’ve got hanging around too (pro-tip: shake the bottle up first).

Cute spot with some nice outdoor seating! Might have to wait a second for seating to become available tho. Worst comes to worst you can take out and go watch the sunset at ocean beach! The poke burrito was my favourite, the fish and chips were also blessed

Hook Fish will not disappoint. THE freshest fish on a taco, sandwich, burrito. But order the fish & chips. It's their signature dish. Light crispy batter. Sit in the sun and enjoy with a craft beer. Run don't walk.

I really wanted to love this place, especially after hearing so many great things and being encouraged to visit. Unfortunately, my experience fell short. The fish I ordered was severely bland and really needed seasoning, and the rest of the food lacked flavor as well. I’m not sure if it was just an off day, but the four people I came with felt the same.
I understand the restaurant was very busy, but it was concerning to see overflowing trash cans and dirty tables. We even had to clean our own before sitting down. It left the impression that cleanliness and attention to detail were overlooked.
While I appreciate how popular this spot is, based on our visit, I personally wouldn’t return. There are other places in the area that have offered a much better experience.

This is a fisherman's fish house. They serve the best local catch that you don't find anywhere else. That's pretty special in itself, and the food is great. Very fresh and good sized portions. I suggest the lingcod burrito. I would come just for the orange habanero sauce. Their restaurant is small and casual, not far from the beach. I prefer takeaway, seating is limited.

I had some very bad tacos, a big scoop of purple cabbage on top a a very bad chopped tomato , and a big piece of avocado very bad . Pineapple drink was bad just watery .

Delicious food! We had the fish & chips, fried fish tacos, & pico with chips. Everything was delicious, but there was a line & no place to sit after we got our food.
We stood in line around 3:15pm on a Saturday & it took us about 20-30 mins to order & another 25 to get our food. Since they have limited seating we didn't find a seat & just ate by our car. Not sure if the line is ever short since it got longer while we were ordering.
Overall, really good food just very limited seating. Very busy & popular place, even during post-lunch hours.
