House Of Hunan Restaurant Reviews
We have eaten here several times and the food is always fresh and tasty. The prices are reasonable and I’ve noticed that the vegetables are always crisp-tender, flavorful, and colorful, which is a good quality marker. The atmosphere is bright and casual, staff are friendly, but usually pretty empty for some reason. Carry out orders are super quick too. We haven’t had a bad dish yet! Would recommend and will be back regularly.
This is a wonderful small restaurant that is just a few blocks from the student apartment of UCSF. It’s very clean, located besides office buildings and has plenty of parking spaces that’s free after 6pm - perfect for dinner. The tastes of dishes are pretty good and prices are reasonable. Our family had first dinner here on a Sunday and enjoyed and finished all the plates we ordered. Before leaving, we even bought a second plate of water boiled spice fish to take home. Solo dinner before meeting up with some friends nearby - great place to stop for dinner before going to a concert at Chase Center or a Giants game. Food was hot and fresh, and portions were generous. Service was awesome, staff greeted me with smiles and checked to make sure everything was to my liking. Waters were refilled in a timely manner. Felt like I was having dinner at my grandma’s house - a truly homely and cozy meal.

The House of Hunan Restaurant offers a massive menu with an extremely friendly staff. Customers can enjoy a variety of dishes, including hot and sour soup, chow fun with vegetables, and dried fried string beans, all tailored to individual spice preferences. The restaurant also provides complimentary fruits and a homemade taste with delicious sauces and fresh vegetables. The dishes follow the original recipes and the execution is fairly good. Portions are generous, and the flavors are bold yet balanced. It is a great option for dine-in or take-out. They also offer steamed bbq pork buns, traditional sticky rice, Mongolian beef, bbq pork chow mein, and sichuan spicy wontons. The shrimp appetizer is light and fresh.
