This place is so bizarre. There are so many Chinese restaurants..you can walk around in the nice weather..I hadn't gone to this restaurant in SF at the border of North Beach Chinatown. I ordered beef and broccoli with an egg roll and soup for lunch. It was fun to go to a different restaurant for Chinese bistro lunch. Then I went to a tour of North Beach. It's funny. Also sells dumplings.

Absolutely delicious. Fairly quick for a small two person operation. The place is not much to look at but that doesn't matter to me because the experience was the taste and the flavor.

I ordered chili oil wonton and dandanmian for our dinner.Trust me! The food is AMAZING! I strongly suggest this restaurant. The sichuan pepper and chili oil are so perfect similar with the dish i had in China from 2008-2019.I also suggest the restaurant to come up with DANDANMIAN with chili oil wonton coz the chili oil in the wonton and dandanmian blends perfectly. It is what I did. I took some dandanmian and place it in the chili oil of wonton.Location:The location is okay for me. We chose this place because of its food not the ambiance. My rule of thumb when it comes to food is that: if an ambiance or place is great, the food is not good. If food is extremely great, the place is okay. Plus, the type of place restaurant has is the best restaurant to have great food in China.

I love coming here! Everytime im craving braised beef noodle soup, this is always my go to spot to satisfy my cravings. We got their beef skewers, pan fried buns, braised beef noodle soup and the spicy beef noodle soup! Everything was super delicious and the dishes came out pretty fast! Highly recommend this spot

Little hole in the wall. The service here wasn't the best, it took a few minutes to get a seat and when we did the waiter acted like us being there was an inconvenience. Got our food and drinks which we had to ask for a couple of times. Getting the check took almost 15 minutes as well, but they had only 1 waiter and he was helping in the kitchen due to the customer volume and online orders coming in.But the food is delicious, they have a fantastic spice balance and an understanding of how to properly add heat to a dish. The tea was alright, not the most flavorful but still nice to have alongside the meal.Overall 8/10. Could easily be 5 stars if the wait staff was nicer.

Amazing no frills unpretentious authentic Xian/Chinese cuisine. I know the ambiance isn't there...it is divey and the service won't give them a Michelin anytime soon but the food is where it's at. Full of flavor and heat-from the beef noodle soup to the dumplings and all the way to the twice cooked pork. You will not be disappointed. The cook is also the owner and he does everything. He waits tables, bus tables, dishes, and he's the only one in the kitchen. Most days seems like a one man operation so please be patient but he does churn the food out fast even on busy days, I don't even know how he does it. That's why regulars call him John Wayne on the block.
