This was my job's 2nd year here for our Black Heritage Gala and both years have been awesome! s/o to the chef & servers!! We had server named Genner "Generosity" who was amazing!! He was the man! Thank you so much for being such a vibe. I had salmon/quinoa/spinach and I scraped the plate. lol. It was really good & fresh. For dessert it was a chocolate something and apple crisp cheesecake. Bomb! It was indeed a lovely day & event here!

By far the worst Ever.Stayed for 4 nights My partner who's mentally and physically challenged.Tashi was only person that showed Excellent customer service. He even gave us the best service with free food on atrium level.Tsering showed poor customer service I was in tears we are homeless we came my partner to spend all our money for an experience we both never had.Well this second person didn't think we belonged here or that we even had a room for that matter. Not only did he deliberately stop our cards he was defensive about it all.He forced my partner to go up and show her id ,that wasn't all he disrespectful to us because he made us wait while he stepped in our paid room first. We showed the id than they said we belong on a lower level without all the perks.Im shaking while I'm typing this have so much anxiety didn't even sleep well. For next three days we were extreme hungry but that's ok.All we wanted was to experience ourselves in a warmth and safe place for once.Really sad and disappointed this happened we are All Human and Deserve to be treated Equally Across the Board.628-288-0782My partners number is 628-628-0921

The hotel is quite good, very quiet, the view is very good, the facilities are a little old, but live quite comfortable, San Francisco recently smashed too much glass really do not dare to park elsewhere, or spend 80 a night to let the hotel to park, buy a peace of mind!

Best view of San Francisco Bay, close to Ferry building, and walking distance from pier 39.

Fabulous location, friendly and helpful staff, often a surprisingly good value! Let me just say there are no perfect hotels. This is definitely an older building, which comes with pros--interesting and unique architecture, a vast lobby, great balconies with views (balconies are not common in SF hotels), and so much more. On the "cons" side, they likely have some water issues that can lead to a musty smell here and there. And for those who aren't as mobile, or just prefer not to walk, that may be a downside. There can be a bit of walking to get to the best view rooms, or get ice. If you don't like to walk, you may want to request a room near the elevator, and accept more of a city view. That said, when you come up against an imperfection, just realize that may be why your room was a better price that you thought it might be:) During covid we met travelers in Half Moon Bay. As we got to talking they said their best travel tip was to set low expectations. If you're just trying to find problems, you can always find them, but that's likely to lead you and those you encounter towards unwanted destinies, like misery and despair. Also, we STRONGLY recommend trying to move up in status with Hyatt. They will reward you, especially if you can get to Globalist. If you grab one or both of Hyatt's credit cards, you'll get points and move your status up. If you're a renter, read about the Bilt card on The Points Guy. Points for paying rent with no fees? I can't think of too many reasons not to own your home, but that one is close! The points can be transferred to many places, but this is one of the few non-Hyatt cards that can be transferred to Hyatt. Also, last year they had a promo better than the Hyatt's card, which made it easier to move your status up. We love many SF hotels, each for their own reasons. This property is super convenient to North Beach, Chinatown, Downtown, the Embarcadero, and more. You are directly across from the Ferry Building, and many rooms have views of the building and the SF Bay. If you're lucky enough to have lounge access, you'll get to hang out in their rooftop, round, former restaurant with 360 degree views. The rumor is that they've gotten the motor running again, so as you hang out, the room will eventually take you around the city. It's not on yet, but maybe soon. Also, there's talk of the rooftop section of the building reopening to the public in 2024 for drinks and possibly more. We spend less time on Market when staying here compared to other favorite places, which improves our visit. There are still homeless, but maybe not as in your face. You MUST join each hotel chain's clubs unless you just don't want to...for free...improve your stays. Our family has earned high status with many programs over time...IHG, Hilton, Marriott, etc. While they all have benefits that make your stay better, I can say, overall, Hyatt is currently #1. I think you'll find confirmation of that on the Points Guy and other sites, but we've lived it. If you're still pretending Marriott is Westin, let it go! It's NOT. There are more Hyatt property locations and levels than there used to be. It takes fewer points to get a stay. The points required to stay are usually SIGNIFICANTLY lower than other programs. If you ca get to Globalist, you'll never want to let it go again!! At that level, you'll get free breakfast...not like Hilton's Diamond and Marriott's Titanium, where you get a little credit towards breakfast, but rarely breakfast...lounge access and late check out, and upgrades (all when available). For Bay Area natives, this property was a centerpiece for many fun times. Sunday brunch, tea dancing, birthdays, and other fun times! And the Embarcadero and this property are part of many movies and television shows. Anyway, happy to be here now, are returning from a visit within the past month, and will come again. I guess that's the bottom line--we had a great time, came again, and will rep

Security guard here was rude and harassed my friend. We threatened to call the police and he walked away.

Customer retention matters, and beware of the 72-hour cancellation policy. I've stayed at this hotel many times, and I always enjoyed my stays. However, I won't set foot in this hotel again. I needed to cancel my reservation for December 15 and December 16, so today, December 13, I called to do that. The representative told me I would be charged for the first night because I did not call 72 hours in advance. Given the rampant crime and homelessness in San Francisco, I suspect the room would not have been resold even if I had called at least 72 hours in advance. I told the representative I would not set foot in her building again, and I won't even if San Francisco cleans up its act. Enjoy my money; you won't see another dime.

Took the train and ferry down from Santa Rosa to meet up with family to celebrate the holidays. I stay a lot at Hyatt hotels for work and used my points to book a room so we could have dinner and not worry about traveling home. We were upgraded to a balcony suite. Wow what an amazing room with some stellar views of the Bay Bridge and the Ferry Building. The inside view of the hotel isn't so shabby either. It's been a while since I've been to this hotel and it looks amazing as always. The lobby and atrium are amazing especially decorated for the holidays. Our room was big enough to have a good size cocktail party with our family prior to our dinner.

We got a bay view room and also upgraded to get club regency access, and I'm glad we did. The club gives you access to the rooftop 360 view of SF and they provide food, snacks, and/ or drinks all day long. Most of the food and snacks or cold finger food snacks (cookies, nuts, deli meats, cheeses, veggies, fruits) and breakfast is also mostly fruits, croissants, quiche, coffee, and eggs (however the eggs were always cold by the time we got to them). If you like hot breakfasts you will not like the options but for us, it was enjoyable. The rooms are huge for SF standards and very clean. The balcony was a nice size with sliding doors that opened all the way up. Bathroom was clean and water pressure in the shower was good. Elevators are super cool and fast. There are 4 elevators and during busy times we would have to wait a couple minutes. The lobby downstairs is huge with plenty of modern and comfy seating options and there is a bar, restaurant and small food market. The elevators also take you to the street level to the valet entrance and there is lots of other doors that you can exit to walk towards the Embarcadero as well. Valet is as great with in and out service however, we paid the steep price of $80/ night for the convenience. We definitely spent a good amount of $$$ but we wanted a nice weekend staycation to relax and enjoy ourselves and we were definitely able to do that here.

I had the pleasure of being welcomed by Amy during my stay at the Hyatt. Her check-in service was exceptional - efficient and friendly. The hotel was spotlessly clean, and Amy's warm greeting added a delightful touch to my experience. Her kind and attentive service truly enhanced my stay, making it a memorable and enjoyable one. Thank you, Amy, for your outstanding hospitality!

Okay so we booked through costco travel and breakfast was included, It it wasn't included (for 2 adults) the breakfast total would have been 86.00. So to have that included was awesome!! Food was absolutely delicious and kinda bougie. When I say the staff was amazing, I mean it. Everybody was literally awesome especially housekeeping, they wrote us nice messages to come back to after having our room cleaned and beds made everyday. The valet service was soooo convenient and they made it easy to text them when we would be expecting our car pulled up. I will say, Be careful renting a big car like a tahoe or suburban because everything here is so narrow. Beds and pillows were so comfy. I wish there was elevators closer to our room it was quite a walk to get there but exercise is good for you! I love this hotel and trust i will be back.

Awesome hotel and even better staff. Big shout out to Amy at the front desk who made our check in super smooth and did it with the biggest smile and best energy! She also helped us with info about the dining experiences available at the Hyatt and with a Fed Ex that was sent to the hotel for us. We stayed over the weekend for Fleet Week and this hotel was a the perfect location. Totally recommend our room (318) with a beautiful view of the Bay Bridge and Ferry Building. Had a great breakfast at the little walk up bistro and a great dinner at Eclipse. Everyone who works here had a smile on their face and was eager to serve everyone. Another shout out to Angela at the front desk for her help and Martin at the Eclipse bar for making one of the best Old Fashioneds I've ever had! Also, we noticed that our tub was a little backed when taking our first shower. We called maintenance and I'm not exaggerating when I say they arrived in 5 minutes and fixed it immediately. Great rooms, comfy beds, great location, great food/drink and amazing staff! Thank you Hyatt!

A supposedly "4-star" hotel that has NEITHER A POOL NOR A HOT TUB. I went down to the front desk to ask what the pool hours were, only to find out that the hotel doesn't have a pool. I was completely stunned. A $400+ per night, supposedly 4-star hotel in SAN FRANCISCO, and they don't even have a pool, "there are only 2 hotels in San Francisco that have a pool", I was told. I asked to speak to the manager, (her name was Elaine) and was informed again that "there are only 2 hotels in San Francisco that have a pool", and that they couldn't do anything about it, no discount, no nothing. Come to find out, there are about 10 different hotels within about a mile of this one that have a pool. The HOLIDAY INN SAN FRANCISCO HAS A POOL, but the Hyatt Regency doesn't. After informing the manager that her information is "out of date" (I.e. they were both lying through their teeth), I was promptly told that I was "welcome to leave and check into one of those hotels", very rudely. I literally redownloaded Yelp just to write this review. The lack of a pool was bad enough but the rudeness of the staff was the real problem. Really hope this hotel hires better management staff, because Elaine clearly isn't up to the task! I will probably never stay at a Hyatt again because of this.

My husband and I stayed here for a couple of nights and loved this place! We got a high floor bayview room with a balcony. Absolutely gorgeous weekend in SF. The hotel is very efficient with check in and out processes and has a great gym. Loved our stay!
