Amazing more than wonderful… the real Italian food. The pizza was delicious, perfect Italian style and the pastas out of this world… we loved and I find it on Google Maps so I just was giving a shot and it was excellent, we are not local we was visited San Francisco from Miami; highly recommend this place !!! as an Italian who visits Italy every year for over a decade i can say the food here is super authentic. we ate here again last night with some out of town guests and every plate was wiped clean. Ideale is as good as any Trattoria i have eaten at in Italy. the veal saltimbocca is better here than in most Rome restaurants and rivals the best. we have tried many dishes here and all were excellent. just go here and you will be extremely happy you did. ciao

This is a standout Italian restaurant in North Beach. Tucked away on Grant, away from the chaos of Columbus, the food is authentic and simply delicious, transporting you to an evening in Rome. The staff is so kind and accommodating, and really make you feel at home. Do not come here if you're looking for huge plates of "chicken alfredo" or "baked ziti" – there are plenty of other more Americanized places in North Beach that offer that. This is a place for true Italian cuisine and portions. IT's my favorite restaurant in North Beacha and I can't wait to go back!

We make a point to dine here upon each visit to San Francisco. The hosts treat us like family. The food is exceptional and the service is attentive. The evening's fish was halibut and it was the best I have ever eaten. The chicken was delicious too as was the pasta and pizza.

Wonderful savory food and great service. Delicious pizza and pasta. The cacio pepe was authentic and also the gnocchi. They look like they've been in business for a long time for good reason. We really enjoyed our evening.

Excellent restaurant. Very intimate and staffed with very real paisani. The food is northern Italian, but when I asked if they could make a caprese, they totally obliged. First (and only, so far) time I've ever ordered off the menu!
