Il Borgo always serves wonderful Italian food. It doesnt look special from the outside but it is gret old style when you get in! They hav some good Italian wine and I love the Penne with mushrooms and sausage, but everything I have triee has been excellent.

A good value for the dollar. Very good, but not great basic Italian food. However, the bathroom 😱 It was worse than a dirty gas station bathroom and made me wonder how clean the place is overall since it's so dark you need a flashlight to even see the menu. It's been 24 hours and I've survived so far LOL I probably won't go back.

We’ve come here twice and each time it reminds us of our visit to Bologna and Tuscany regions of Italy. The pasta is delicious (lobster ravioli) and we usually ask the server which wine to pair but I don’t feel like you can go wrong with the selection. The restaurant is one of the coziest we’ve found in the city. Will definitely be returning!

Decent food and service, and a lovely atmosphere. Quiet and homey on a Saturday evening. Caprese salad was much too salty, and green beans overcooked. The ravioli and potatoes were great.

From the moment we arrived it was as we were having dinner in a friend's home. The gentleman who served us was wonderful. The good was beyond my expectation. Will go again.

Dine-in service was excellent. The fettuccini was awesome, and the tiramisu was fabulous. We loved the house Chianti and Merlot. However, the Casareccia Insalate and Lobster Ravioli need to be reimagined.

A friend of mine told me about this place. It's a solid Italian restaurant with great authentic ambiance. The food is always good here and I recommend you give it a try.

Waiter was very nice, very few customers between 6-7 pm, very quiet, good prices, the montepulciano we had was fine and good price, but the food was disappointing. Great crusty warm bread! But my fettuccine bolognese had a slightly off taste to me, minimal meat sauce, all the pastas were a bit too al dente for us but that's a preference. Probably would not go there again, alas. When I was there a couple of years ago it was much better!

A charming Italian restaurant, decorated well, and feels family owned. Loved the gnocchi.

Il Borgo is indeed, as many note, a "Neighborhood Gem". It's cozy & casual... but can be a romantic & a bit cinematic. The Food is very good and reasonably priced. Best of all, it's a mere short walk to Hayes Street shopping, SFJazz & the Symphony Hall for a swell evening out.

Really wanted to like it but some entrees were tepid. Service wasn't very friendly which made us inclined not to order any starters nor wine.

This is a terrific restaurant. You feel like you are in Italy. I had the artichoke ravioli and it was fantastic.
