We happened to come by and meet a friend which highly recommended this restaurant. We found out they have been here for a very long time. Lots of patrons, multi-ethnic people, usually mostly Filipinos or other cultures that are married to Filipino origin come and eat at Filipino eateries. Impressed, authentic Pampanga/kapampangan(culinary capital) food. We will deifintely be coming back.

This is my new favorite place for authentic Filipino food! It’s a 3-minute walk from the 16th & Mission BART station. The prices are great for the portion you get. I’ve tried the kare kare and daing na bangus and they remind me of my parents’ cooking. I think this place deserves way more hype.

Ok so this spot looks basic and is easy to walk past, but tbh, the places with the best food usually aren't flashy. This place is one of those. It has a diner like set up and those classic Filipino dishes taste like they're homemade. The pork Tocino with garlic rice and eggs is my Filipino go to dish and this did not disappoint. The meat was sweet and savory, packed with flavor and the rice had crispy garlic fried into it and was dripping with the Tocino meat juice. I loved it, and it was a very reasonable price, after tax and tip like 11 bucks!

Hands down, my favorite Filipino joint in SF. No frills, cafeteria-style home cooking. Everything they make is good and I can't say that about a lot of places. The dinuguan (chocolate meat) and the adobo ng pusit (squid adobo) are really good. And they don't price gouge like a lot of restaurants in the Bay Area! Rough neighborhood but very much worth the trip.

I went here because I was craving lumpia. They don't put that much meat in the lumpia, so they are ok. The banana fried roll was inedible, so I threw what I bought away. The next place I tried to buy lumpia was Chibog in Daly City. Their lumpia tastes great, but are more expensive. Next place I will try is Ongpin in South San Francisco.

I can't just give this place anything lower than a 4 star, despite, the bad that people may say in other reviews. 1. They have, according to my filipino friends, some of the best lumpia in the City. and at 3 -4 pieces for $1.00. That is AMAZING. Just imagine, if this place closed, and you were forced to buy the same quality, or lower, at let's say a filipino hipster food truck, and pay $9.00, how devastated you would be. Hence, the 5 stars on the lumpia. The lumpia, is very meaty and has got that really good crunch. The 10+ times, the lumpia has always always been consistent. 2. I think they make a damn good turon. I haven't had much elsewhere. But do you ever get a pastry for 7 dollars, and think to yourself, I could have just been as happy getting a Turon for $1.00. Their Turon has that crunchy sugar lair that has been carmelized so well. The inside of jackfruit and banana has always been perfect ripeness. And the skin maintains its crispiness. You do have to judge for yourself, if the Turon has been sitting out for more than one day, because that is where the consistency issue lies, and that is where people may have an issue with their food. 3. Now, as for their other dishes. I am a big fan of their pen- a behr (don't know how to spell it). It is their bittermelon stew. There is no better way to cook bittermelon than the filipino way. The shrimp paste they use, and the combination of meat they use makes this stew very delicious. I don't enjoy their adobo, and some of their other dishes. Some of their dishes just get too heavy with the oil and I wish, the sauce was thickened and flavored in better ways that isn't excessive oil or salt. This is coming from a guy who loves both. Their dinigawang is okay. Luckily, I've had a homemade version before. Theirs is a bit vinegary. and their polobok, I wasn't a huge fan of either. The entirety of it tasted like chicharron or pork rinds. My friend once brought over polobok that was so divine, that eating Irma's made me a little sad. It wasn't bad by any means, but definitely, I've had better filipino food elsewhere. and I guess that is where is 3 stars would come in. All in all, you have to know what you like and want from Irmas. They make a lot of different foods and it rotates, and in my case they can make a lot of food not to my liking. but you really cant complain when they make really bomb lumpia for the cheapest you may ever see in your life.

Best vegetable lumpia and turon. Quaint spot on the corner of van ness and 16th. It was a quick phone preorder so the pick up was quick. And the price was definitely right!

Delicious food, yummy yummy. Unfortunately I didn't feel comfortable inside BUT I will be ordering for delivery. Irma, please consider expanding your delivery options. I saw so much more inside the restaurant than I saw online. Really tasty food and reasonable prices.

Service was fast, tables are clean, and the quality of the food was good. Special Combo Plate was a lot of food for the money. Clean bathroom.
