After a long flight, we decided to call by Johnny Foley’s Irish Bar for a quick drink and bar snack as it was close to our hotel. We were warmly welcomed on arrival by the hostess, who quickly showed us to a high table with tall chairs, which was perfect for a casual stop. Shortly after sitting down, our server arrived to take our drinks order and was friendly and efficient. Our drinks came out quickly, and we decided to keep it simple with a portion of garlic fries, even though the menu had plenty of great choices that looked tempting. It didn’t take long for the fries to arrive, and they were exactly what we expected, a really generous portion that was easily big enough to share and more like British chips rather than French fries, just how we like them. The bar itself had a good atmosphere, with good music playing and plenty of TVs showing different sports. Overall, it was a lovely first stop in San Francisco, and we would definitely consider returning for a proper meal next time.

Devon is the best bartender. Stop in for good, late night vibes.
Great service, great food, best Guinness I’ve had in the US. Portions were fantastic and the food was lovely. Server Kendall was amazing.

I visited Johnny Foley’s Irish House with my wife on Friday, August 2, and we had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was lively with the band playing, which really added to the evening. The food was delicious, and everything we ordered came out fresh and flavorful. Our server was excellent—friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the night.
It’s a great spot for good food, great music, and a welcoming vibe. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Wonderful Irish pub and restaurant. Sunday brunch was delicious, the bloody mary spicy, and the Guinness was smooth and yummy!

Entrance used to be free for the dual piano bar years ago, then entrance was $10 (bearable) now in 2025 it's a $20 entrance fee, (insane) not including prices for drinks, and tips if you want to request a specific song from the piano player(s). Last time I went in mid-July on a Saturday night, the bar was not packed as usual. Music stops playing at midnight.

My wife and I visited here on a recent trip to San Francisco from Buffalo, NY.
This is truly an Irish pub with a great pub atmosphere. We had Smithwick's Irish Red Ale with broccoli and cheddar soup, Irish potato skins and a serving of prawns. The food was delicious and well worth it.
The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was very comfortable.
We recommend this and look forward to coming here again.

I definitely had sticker shock in here. Everything is quite expensive and they add a “government mandate” fee to the bill.

A man sexually assaulted me at the bar and the place did nothing. If you are a woman beware because they do not care!! Please enter this place with caution, they will not protect you
