Johnny Foley's provides a very good corned beef sandwich, not mile-high but good with sauerkraut and Irish cheddar cheese. You can add good fries drizzled with Irish curry. Watch out for the prices for their non-alcoholic drinks: $16 for an Almalfi Spritz! This joint has a lot of character and good music, and my waitress Caroline was very friendly and nice.

I had an amazing Reuben sandwich! The portion was generous and the corned beef was incredibly juicy and flavorful. The receptionist felt a bit cold, and the area we were told to seat in was quite dark. However, our waiter was very kind and attentive, which we really appreciated. The food was so good that it made up for everything. I’d still definitely go back for that sandwich!

Always good here. The Bangers and Mash, a typical Irish bar food, was delicious. The mound of mash potatoes was very satisfying.

Duelling pianos was the best night we had in San Francisco! Decently priced drinks, musicians usually full of banter. Great atmosphere. Must go!
We had dinner here and it was a good time. Their beer battered fish and chips were delicious! Plus their Guinness was served really cold and their cocktails were strong!
The staff were friendly and serviced was fast. Love the low light and quiet ambience. The tables got filled as soon as we got seated but it was not noisy at all. There’s still some level of privacy and intimacy.

The worst service ever. We were sitting at the bar for 10+ mins before any bartenders decided to take our drink order, then waited another 10+ mins to place our food order. Only 40 mins after we realized the bartender didn't even place our order.

One of my favourite places to be.

Johnny Foley’s was one of those places I walked into expecting a fun Irish bar and ended up being completely floored by the whole experience. The vibe is exactly what you want, lively, welcoming, and the kind of spot where you immediately know you’re going to have a good time. But the food is what shocked me. The fish and chips were genuinely out of this world, perfectly crispy and not greasy, and the potato skins were dangerously good. We also had the Irish burger and the Reuben, and both were way better than they had any right to be for a bar. Then, just when you think it can’t get better, the live music kicks in, and their cover band was one of the best I’ve ever heard. If you’re in San Francisco and want a great night out where the food actually delivers, this place is a no-brainer.
