John's Grill is one of our favorite restaurants in San Francisco, and our dinner here more than lived up to our high expectations. It's a historic restaurant that doesn't rest on its laurels--the cocktails, the food, and the service were all terrific. A classic for a reason.
This is a classic old school SF establishment serving a variety of dishes (fish, meat and meatless). It's one of those places to see and be seen, albeit in a crowded atmosphere, where the noise of conversation is ever present. Our food was top notch and there was no shortage of wait staff helping. In my case they accommodated six of us and even kept an eye on a scooter at the front door as it would not fit between the tables and aisle. (one of our party used it due to ambulatory...
Wonderful, wonderful place. I've been coming here since I was two years old over 30 years ago very energetic old school but modern at the same time very wonderful vibe and very cool peeps thank you again for a wonderful evening as always.
