My husband and I decided to get coffee and a quick breakfast before heading to Alamo Park to walk around and take a picture of the Painted Ladies houses.
We stumbled across this bakery and were extremely pleased with the outcome.
I ordered coffee and a ham and cheese croissant, delicious. My husband ordered hot tea and the number 7 which was toast with hummus, cauliflower and something else (he forgot). He said all ingredients were fresh and it really delicious.
If you’re coming to Alamo park or to see the Painted Ladies houses, i definitely recommend coming here to pick up a quick bite and bringing it to Alamo park for a quick picnic. You will not be disappointed.

really to die for bread!!! i got:
- the daily special: labneh, broccolini, mint, and chilli crisp - toad in the hole: poached egg, garlic sage butter
both to die for, though i’ll note the bread gets kinda burnt in the back. but it’s okay because the taste is still great.
will be back for the black pepper parmesan bun & one of the sweet toasts!

Apparently, asking to steam cold brew at The Mill is a sacrilege. Just FYI, we’ve been doing it in Oregon and Washington for decades now. It doesn’t break your machine. Not doing so does lose you customers. Maybe this is why Oregon and Washington are above California…

Truly some of the best bread I’ve ever had in the world. This is my go-to bread place in the city. It’s located inside of The Mill, and you can either get loaves to go or a variety of prepared slices of toast.
I typically get a loaf of Wonder Bread to go, but all of the toast that I’ve had here is likewise excellent, especially the avocado toast.
The bread was superb. All ingredients good. The environment was nice. Felt like a lot to pay for a slice of toast - maybe don’t get it to take out

Came here for the typical avocado toast, and I was blown away by how good it is. Such a simple thing, and they manage to make it amazing with the bread they use.
There doesn’t seem to be a lot of vegan options from a glance at their menu, but the cashier told me they can easily make most of the items vegan. I was able to get an oat milk cappuccino.

I LOVE Josey Baker bread. I have had sourdough all over the country and can 100% tell you that Josey Baker is the best. After moving from Pac Heights to NY last March, I have brought home 4 loaves every time to put in my freezer (I thaw one at a time in my breadbox and have a slice every morning).
