One of the oldest bakeries in town. I’ve been going here since the 1980s with my grandmother. I’m glad to see it’s still around serving the same yummy

Kinda a dump in a part of town that’s dirty but if you’re in a pinch for baked goods it does the job nicely

Came by just to get some cheap sweet eats. I guess you can call it a Panaderia. It's self service, pick what you want, put it on your tray. I usually get the custard horn and this time I got the cut sponge cake (individually wrapped in plastic wrap), there's also one wrapped in Parchment paper. Quality wise it's a hit or miss. One day it's good but my last visit was meh. The custard horn that's sugar coated didn't taste up to par, it was lacking flavor. As for the sponge cake, it had a dry texture. Guess it was a bad day.

I see another reviewer who had the same experience. Our slice of tres leches was extremely rancid! I would steer clear of any of their refrigerated "goods." I'm going to be sick.

Had a going away soirée for a co-worker and wanted to grab some Chinese pastries. I also didn't want to head all the way to Chinatown. Found Kings on Yelp and it hit the spot. Unusual to find an Asian- Latin bakery in the Outer Mission , but glad I found it! It's a quasi self serve place- grab a pizza pan, some tongs, then have at it! I got a dozen cocktail buns and half dozen baked pork buns. Smelled great on my drive back to the office. Tasted even better! I'll be back-

It's been years since I stepped foot in this bakery. I visited a Saturday evening and bought a napoleon. I took a bite but decided to save it for Sunday morning. On Sunday morning my pastry crumbled apart and I noticed dark grayish fuzzy spots in between layers- it was mold. Mold can make you sick. A lot of his customers are eldery people.

Great selection of pastries. Grab a tray and go nuts- everything is fresh and reliably good. Sweet buns are a special experience in subtlety. Coffee is just ‘fine’, as it should be for this establishment- it’s not some ‘3rd wave coffee shop’ or whatever. Glad to have discovered this excellent bakery.

Moist Mexican pastries, which I prefer. Their cakes are very nice. Creamy, but not too sweet. At $30.00, a bargain these days.

I have come here many many times over the years. Today was my last. I stopped in and picked up two pieces of tres leches only to get home and give one to my gf for her to bite into and find that the milk used had spoiled! I felt so horrible. I called Kings who just said bring it back and we will refund your $ thing is I dont live right next to them so I pretty much gave them $$ for a rotten piece of cake. Who knows how long this cake was in that case. Be WARNED.

Kings Bakery Cafe is now my favorite Mission Street bakery for traditional Mexican pastries. Compared to the 3 larger bakeries near 24th & Mission, Kings has everyone beat by selection, price, and seating. The owners are Asian and the decor reflect their cultural heritage. The Cafe has no bathroom or sink, but has 4 small tables with chairs. The Cafe has cold beverages but the coffee is not quality. If you like Mexican Bolillos (baby baguette) that are fresh and warm then this is your place.
