This place absolutely exceeded my expectations. The place is primarily Vietnamese but you would find Thai flavours.
Such a wide variety of items in here - and everything is finger licking good. I absolutely had a feast here. I got Chicken Friend rice and it was good - not the best but above average.
For the table fish platter was also exquisite. I can't recall which fish was that but it was really great..it also came up with so.many other item such as chicken wings.
The seafood sizzling tom yum probably tasted the best. Thoughly enjoyed it. The Belgian beer they server was one of the best.
In isolation probably every food I tried, I can find a better and slightly tastier version but a single place delivering and maintaining above average food quality over such a wide spectrum is rare.
The ambience and environment was great. The place became super noisy later in the evening but it was so much fun dining out here.

We went in for lunch and were really looking forward to finding out what Laotian cuisine was but ended up being mildly disappointed. We ordered a shareable platter, lamb curry, crispy tilapia and veggie spring rolls. The Tilapia was very bland and the sauce didn't pack enough of a punch to make up for it. The papaya salad was solid, the curry a little too rich for our taste and the rest of the food was unremarkable. Still couldn't pin point the signature flavors of Laos food (maybe need to try more dishes) and wished we had went to a mom and pop Vietnamese or Thai restaurant for 2/3 the price. Overall great atmosphere, very nice service but not worth the price.

Excellent!
First visit to this restaurant for an early lunch. I enjoyed the food very much , and the service was excellent.
Large menu selection with variety of meat options along with some vegetarian options. Beverage and Tea selection are great.

We had been to Lao Table few months ago and had really liked the food. We went back tonight and ordered vegetarian versions of Pad Mee Lao and spicy eggplant.
The spicy eggplant had a hair so the waiter took it back and returned with another one in a bit, it tasted pretty good. Then came the Pad Mee Lao and as soon as I tried a bite I realized it had a fishy taste, I asked the waitress if it has fish sauce she said no, I asked her if she could smell the dish once. After smelling it she said it probably has oyster sauce which is not fish sauce so we should be okay. I told her we ordered the vegetarian version of the dish (called out in the menu itself, not a special request) so we cannot eat oyster sauce. She said let me check because sometimes they put oyster sauce in vegetarian version and she came back and said it did have oyster sauce.
So both dishes we ordered had major issues.
Service is not at all attentive, I had to wait for 2 servers long chat to be over so they could pay attention to me waving at them for help.
They didn't refill waters not just for us but other tables too had to call them just for refilling waters.
So disappointed with today's experience.

The ratio of noise level and price to food quality was too high, as it is for many restaurants in SOMA. I would give 5 stars for food except that vegetarian options were too limited and seemed to be an afterthought.

Yummy, though not very homey, Laotian food in glass-and-steel surroundings typical of downtown. An elevated take on Southeast Asian.
Tour the menu with the all-around crowd-pleasing Original Lao Platter. Easily shareable amongst 3, a very filling meal for just 2.
Highlights include Fried Chicken (topped with fried shallots) accompanied with a sweet-savory, lemongrass-fragrant curry dipping sauce. Duck Larb, a delicate protein-rich salad mixed with handfuls of fresh herbs (mint, dill, cilantro, Thai basil) and served with lettuce wraps.
A good ethnic option when downtown.

This was my second experience at Lao table and they did not disappoint. I remembered how much I enjoyed my first visit and they certainly delivered. The Thai tea is my favorite and they give you such a hearty glass I love it and am still thinking about it. We had the chicken tom yum, it was absolutely delish and spicy very tasty. We also ordered the Kobe steak and also chicken fried rice. (The steak came with sticky rice also.) The steak was omg wow I am definitely coming back for that. The fried rice was top tier, very yummy. We ended with an espresso martini, it was huge and so smooth. My husband got a tiny shot of espresso. Everything was amazing. Their service was on point as well, the servers were so attentive and quick. I really enjoyed my experience and am looking forward to coming back a third time. I think I will order the exact same thing lol or should I try something new? Thank you Lao table!
Have been here before ordering other things but this time I got the duck pho and the emperor cocktail. The pho wasn’t really pho, there was only a small bowl of soup provided, but it was still good. I would order something else though. The emperor cocktail was unlocked in a smoked enclosure and was really a nice experience to get. Drink was good and I’d be interested to try something else. I remembered their cocktails being good so I enjoyed going back. On the pricier side, but what isnt in SF!

Pricey and kind of a hit or miss for some of the food.
Ordered several appetizers (calamari and chicken skewers were lowkey not worth it in my opinion), the moo ping, (it was good but again nothing too special) and tom yum soup which lacked the authentic flavor and tasted like basic chicken soup.
For our main we ordered the green curry with beef short rib which was a stand out! Very rich and creamy and the beef was super tender. However it’s a quality u would expect if you pay $40 for it. Would only come for fancy dinners!!
