This bar has the potential to be 5 stars but it highly depends on which bartender is working. Mike is awesome and the owner Paul is as well. However Pete has always rubbed me the wrong way - his cockiness far exceeds what he has to offer. But I’ve never felt the need to express my concerns about him being high and drunk, while working, until today, when he proceeded to yell at me relentlessly from behind the bar about an issue he completely misinterpreted due to his intoxication. He then tried to disparage me to his fellow bartenders who also advised him to settle down. According to the regulars, this seems to be a common occurrence. Yelling at a customer, and a female, is very intimidating and inappropriate. It seems that as soon as the owner leaves, Pete feels that he owns the bar and can act with unprofessional conduct. I will not be returning while he is working. I would advise his employment be strongly reconsidered, and recommend he functions as a silent investor (and not an employee) moving forward.

Pete the bartender had such good and welcoming vibes. Everyone at the bar was fun and social. Lots of TVs for sports. Enjoyed a delicious taco! Here on vacation and wasn’t sure where to go but this place hit the spot!

Experience: I was pretty excited to find a place with decent happy hour pricing (ex: cheese curds for $7 and the fried combo platter for $13). I wasn't provided a menu, so I showed the sole bartender what I wanted on the site.
The food came and was the wrong order (cheese curds and the house made hummus plate). Mistakes happen, so no worries.
Unfortunately, when the bill came, I was charged $15 for the cheese curds and $20 for the fried combo platter. Additionally, there was an additional SF mandate of 5%. (Shoutout to https://www.seefees.ca/ for bringing transparency here to these deceptive restaurant pricing practices).
I asked the server (who just hopped on shift) why the pricing was so high, and she confirmed that the happy hour time was right, but that the pricing on the website was wrong. Then she told me she would tell the owner, and left.
What should've been an easy afternoon experience was now made a little bitter by these deceptive pricing practices. I had high hopes for this place as my neighborhood hangout spot, but I guess not!
Really really great local bar. I come here consistently because I live close by and it’s consistently good! The service is great and people are nice when it’s slow or when there’s a giants game and it’s busy. The bartenders are attentive and very friendly. I asked about a certain scotch once and one bartender went to the back to retrieve it and did a free tasting for me. The bartenders are quick at the bar and also do quick table service which is nice and somewhat uncommon at sports bars. The business always has a nice vibe, it’s spacious, and seems very clean. I have also been pleasantly surprised with the food! Hardly any wait time and all the sandwiches I’ve tried are good. I love the fries!
I often come with my dog as well and they are always accommodating to that.

Always a great experience at Local Tap. So many good local beers on tap, the food is restaurant quality and the service is always friendly and attentive. I had the local rock cod tacos and it was delicious. Usually the owner is around but tonight he wasn’t there and even so the food, service and experience was perfect, Local Tap is very well operated.
