We love Luisa's and visit every time we're in San Francisco. Our favorites are Bellinis, bruschetta, manicotti, chicken piccata, and tiramisu. If you're lucky, you'll get to chat with Luisa herself.

A Classic Italian Gem in San Francisco – Worth the Visit If you're looking for an authentic Italian dining experience in San Francisco, this spot should be on your list. The food and service are excellent, capturing the charm and flavor of classic Italian hospitality. Be sure to book ahead, and when you do, clearly specify whether you want indoor or outdoor seating. We had requested indoor seating, but were told upon arrival that it was full, despite our reservation. That said, the outdoor setup was still comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Prices are reasonable for the quality, and while the wine list isn't extraordinary, it's decent enough to complement the food. Overall, a highly recommended experience—with the small caveat to double-confirm your seating preference.

Meeting Luisa, and eating her fantastic food was such a wonderful experience. Our group of four shared gnocchi with pesto, lobster ravioli, short ribs and linguine with prawns. Each dish was amazing. The generous wine pours and the pricing overall was surprisingly affordable. A terrific dining experience.

Luisa's is one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever been to. The dishes were fresh, tasty and delicious. The parma pizza, pasta carbonara with pancetta, and the beef carpaccio were my favorite dishes. Also, nobody could ever go wrong with cannolis or tiramisu cake, which were both incredible. Luisa herself was even at the restaurant monitoring everything and making sure everyone felt welcome and at home. She made the experience even more enjoyable!

Outstanding food and experience. Highly recommend this fabulous place. Food was amazing. They recommended great wine pairings for each of our plates. The desserts were out of this world. The limoncello mascarpone cake is out of this world! Enjoy!!!

Dined here with 4 friends (2 very picky). Everyone was extremely happy and raved about the choice. We picked 3 pasta dishes and then 3 mains to share to let all of us enjoy multiple options. All were great but had our favorites: CANNELLONI & Pollo Piamontese. Would definitely recommend.

We discovered this gem several years ago so whenever we are visiting San Francisco we dine here. The pasta dishes are always delicious. We like the cozy restaurant and service was excellent.

Luisa's restaurant has quality Italian food, prompt service, and an active attentive staff.

This is a staple for my wife whenever she heads into San Francisco for work (about once a month). Consistently good, she swears by the Puttanesca. She doesn't eat gluten and instead of the usual options, they often have a GF Spaghetti option instead of penne. I've done the Oso Bucco (lamb) and the gorgonzola gnocchi (both specials). The service is always warm and well informed. I am sure we will be back.

Homemade pasta was delicious, staff was friendly & authentically Italian, and the ambiance was lovely. 10/10

Had to grab our own menus, waited over an hour for food and 45 minutes for water refill. Good food but way understaffed.

Atmosphere and service were good, but the food left me wanting more. The pesto is great, but the meatballs and garlic bread were under seasoned. We enjoyed our time together and ate the food, but I won't be going back.

Great experience all around. Definitely enjoyed the Osso Buck and Braised beef pasta specialty dishes. So good!!

After 10 days on the road down the coast of California this was the best food we have tasted! The gelato is to die for! The service was excellent! A pearl in San Francisco! We are defiantly coming back!
