We came for lunch and the owner was very friendly. Really enjoyed the tasty dishes, especially the lamb dumplings and the duck confit chow mein. Would also recommend the oolong tea, which was amazing as well.

Kung Pao pastrami and the pork belly are two favorites. Great that they still offer free delivery.

Had a really good meal here, would recommend. Service was slow (we came mid-afternoon at a slow time) but the server quickly helped us out when we finally asked her after waiting a while, so that’s fine. Solid place!

Absolutely incredible food in modest location/ space. A little meat heavy.Vegetarian options: All food here is excellent. The vegetarian options are also equally good, just limited.

Mission Chinese is a delicious hidden gem in the Mission District of SF. Their menu has a lot of "classics" with intriguing twists, such as beef broccoli but with brisket or sour chili chicken with potato. The service was prompt, albeit slightly curt, and the food came out quickly. I really liked the two mains that we got but didn't love the smashed cucumber. The dragon hanging from the ceiling was a nice touch as well. Would certainly recommend to anymore wanting some interesting Chinese food in the Mission District in SF!

Recently me and my uncle went out for a bite. We were originally heading to Bissap Baobab where I just went to a stellar Elite Event. They didn't open until 5:30pm so instead we opted to go to Mission Chinese Food across the street. I knew about Mission Chinese for years and it was in my hood aka the Mission yet never went here until now. Danny Bowien aka chef/restauranteur is known for his creative self described weird Chinese cuisine and Danny even put out a Mission Chinese Vegan Cookbook which is awesome. Many vegan options on the menu that are vegan by default or can be customized vegan. Mission Chinese Food is both veg and non-veg. Danny also opened up a MCF in NYC where he is based and where I am from originally and so is my uncle. Coast to coast CA to NY. SF and NY are two great cities yet very different. Service was just fine and appreciate the recommendations from our waitress. Upon the suggestion of the waitress we went with two orders of Classic Chow Mein with mushrooms and Mongolian Longbeans done up with horseradish and Sichuan peppercorns. The food was quite alright. Ample portions. The longbeans were unique and flavorful with some heat aka spicy and the Chow Mein was good. We each enjoyed our Chow Mein and longbeans we shared family style. Feedback would have been nice to have the option to add tofu to the Chow Mein. Would have liked more veggies in the Chow Mein as here seems you order the veggies separate. Ambiance was spot on with dragon and Asian art/posters on the walls. Hip hop music played which was cool and unexpected. I liked the music. I have dined in places where the music took away from the meal yet here the music was cool so kudos and props to whoever was playing tunes here. Monday morning quarterback for the Sunday game would have shared a Chow Mein, Long Beans, and maybe ordered a tofu dish to get more variety. My uncle gives it three stars. He is a tough critic. I give it four stars. I can make a mean plant strong Chow Mein yet good to mix it up dining out in this lovely little city by the Bay with my uncle. I would return to scope out more of the menu.

Not nearly as popular for lunch as it was 5 years ago; just two customers dining in at 1:00 p.m. on a Tuesday. It used to be full. Same tasty food!

Walked in with a friend on a Friday around 7:30PM and was seated away. Got the cumin lamb and spicy eggplant (not that spicy), highly recommend both! Service was quick, staff was friendly.

Amazing dishes with the most fanciful and brightly-colored Chinese ceiling dragon you've ever dined with! Menu hint: Get the smoked Kung Pao Pastrami before they run out it for the night.

Immaculately cool vibes. The ribs and bacon rice cakes were earth shatteringly good. Honestly reevaluated my entire life after eating here.

Well played, Lung Shan/ Mission Chinese! My budget doesn't allow for as much take-out as I'd like, but this is one of my special treat favorites. I went to pick up a bare bones order today and encountered a trivial snag with an online order submission I wouldn't even have remembered by tomorrow, but the restaurant "made it right" with some gratis apps I've never tried before. I'm not only grateful for this totally unnecessary gesture of service, but now I'm hooked on these apps I've never sprung for in the past and will not be able to resist in future. Food is flavorful, greens are available, peanuts are habit forming. Staff take their jobs seriously and cooks are lightening fast. Thank you!!! Xoxo

I've had this place on my list for awhile as people seem to love it. I found it to be just alright. I think it is interesting how creative their dishes are and a nice fusion that you don't typically get but the flavors weren't blowing me away. I think it's fun to try once but can't see myself needing to return.
