Matcha is good but premade
The ice cream here is absolutely delicious!
The matcha ice cream (soft-serve) is good/decent, but at the time we visited they had basically ran out of more than half their stuff. Granted it was towards closing time, but, I mean... seems like they could manager their inventory better.
Also, there's no seating inside or even outside the "cafe" - it's tucked away on the first floor of the west side of Japan Center, so you can take your order to go and then stroll around the shopping center or find a bench.
Overall, well, it certainly does have an authentic flavor, it wasn't amazing enough that I'll be rushing to return.
Hojicha soft serve is delicious and service was friendly and quick. But y'all need to get different spoons. These are too deep and are soup spoons so you can't enjoy a full bite at once
Dude, most authentic matcha latte ever???
This is the best I’ve tasted so far and honestly so comforting!!! 😩
Do not order the matcha crepe cakes here. A tiny slice that tastes like it came from Safeway cost $14 including tax. It should have been $6 max. Bad value.
Long line but worth it.
Maiko's special sundae is highly recommended.
We came here around 9:30pm at night for dessert. There was a short line that moved very quickly, and the staff fulfilled our order within minutes. The matcha and vanilla ice cream cone was good, but the waffle cone was the highlight since it was crispy and not too heavy. I also got the cheese foam matcha latte just to compare it with the ones I got from Izumi Matcha and Maruwu Seicha. The cheese foam here felt slightly heavy, and the matcha latte tasted slightly watery and wasn't creamy enough. I would say this place is better than Izumi Matcha, but Maruwu Seicha is still the best for both drinks and soft serve.
I love this place. Long line if it's busy. Very hot inside when you wait for your food, especially summer time. Just wait outside a bit but close enough to hear when your order is ready. Staff are efficient and friendly. They should invest on more ordering machines. For sure they earn enough based on their business especially on warm SF days.

something about this maiko in particular whisks me into a dewey matcha meadow where the hands of the sun goddess herself reaches longingly through trees, nurturing and feeding me. i sink my teeth only in supple and tender euponius swirls who melt and lay slumber in my mouth, treacly residents. invite lush earthy matcha, smooth and milky, caramelly sweetness to cushion and cuddle your humanly worries away. it is so delicious here please come here bring everyone you know bring grandma and baby charles and uncle thomas and ESPECIALLY your pet rat joey

Love the matcha ice cream. They sprinkle some matcha on top of the soft serve to balance out the bittersweet taste and let me tell you that i am overreacting when I say that this is probably the best ice cream I have ever had. The honeydew ice cream is good but very sweet. The ice creams have this perfect consistency that is creamy and yummy love it so much. Recommend to anyone who wants worlds best Ice cream. COME HERE NOW!!!
