Hands down like my favourite place I have ever been for matcha. The soft serve was sooo creamy and the perfect ratio of matcha! The store is pretty small but it's so adorable because the doors are open and you can feel the breeze while you're inside. The cone is DELICIOUS and the service is good! Not a very long line when I was there.

I usually come here because of their high quality ice cream but today I received a thin cone that was already falling apart once I received it.

Solid matcha soft serve. Good matcha flavor without being too sweet with a nice grain to it. Service was fast too and there's one self serving kiosk. There's not really a lot of space inside and holy it was crowded during the cherry blossom festival but so was everything else that day.

This is my favorite matcha + hojicha spot in the city. The matcha soft serve and hojicha lattes / frappes always hit. Most flavored soft serve spots I've had have super subtle flavor, but this one is quite concentrated and goes perfectly with the crispy cone. I also like how you can adjust the sweetness levels for the drinks and that they have monthly rotating soft serve flavors like ube, pandan, jasmine, and hojicha! This is the perfect sweet treat during any time of the day - I only wish they were open earlier in the morning!

Reminiscing through my SF trips and check ins and came afross Matcha Cafe Maikonin J-town. My friend knew that I love anything hojicha or matcha and so she took me here and said it was her favorite matcha place in SF! I first tried the hojicha iced latte and wow, it was so good. I loved every sip of it especially since I don't get much hojicha back home. Surprise, surprise, we ended up coming back the very next day and my friend treated me a drink. This time, I tried their strawberry iced matcha latte. It was also very delicious and convinced me that they, in fact, do not have any bad drinks. Everytime I'm in SF, you will see me drop by here once or twice. Mark my word!

I've never gotten the cone before but I was pleasantly surprised. The cone was lighter than most in flavor and texture. Not super crunchy but very nice light crunch. The sugar content wasn't large but was lightly sweet. We liked their pandan flavor! Not coconutty at all and you really taste actual pandan flavor.

Great matcha. Quick service. In and out, no interior seating. For real matcha lovers, you can't go wrong!

Ive been on my matcha obsession streak ? we got the boba ice cream, strawberry matcha latte, and matcha float (THEY MADE ONE EXTRA BY MISTAKE SO WE GOT IT FOR FREEE). This is all to prep before our friend goes study abroad in kyoto. Drinks were sooo good and i continued to drink when we get to the park and sunbathe.

Nice place to get dessert for a bite. The line can be absurdly long so planning to go before attending really helps.Opted for a cone on a hot busy day. It was alright, a bit overhyped I felt for the popularity it gets. The ice cream definitely emphasizes the nice creaminess of the treat but flavor is a bit flat. Quantity is a bit on the lower end which doesn’t make sense paying the higher price you pay.

Matcha Cafe Maiko in Japantown offers a delightful experience for matcha enthusiasts and dessert lovers alike. We recently indulged in their homemade matcha and vanilla soft serve. It is served in a fresh, crispy cone that added the perfect crunch to each creamy bite. The balance of flavors was perfect, with the earthy notes of matcha harmonizing beautifully with the subtle sweetness of the vanilla. In addition to the soft serve, we also sampled their strawberry matcha tea, which featured homemade strawberry purée that added a burst of fruity flavor to the refreshing matcha base. The combination was both unique and satisfying, making for a delightful beverage option. Despite the long line of customers, the worker behind the counter managed to handle both cashier duties and the preparation of our order with efficiency and friendliness. The service was prompt, ensuring that we didn't have to wait long to enjoy our treats. The interior of the cafe was clean and inviting, albeit with limited seating options along the window. However, there were a few tables available outside, shared with neighboring cafes, providing a spot to savor our treats while enjoying the bustling atmosphere of the surrounding area. Whether you're a matcha aficionado or simply looking to satisfy your sweet tooth, Matcha Cafe Maiko is definitely worth a visit.

I'm so glad South Sacramento has this gem! Matcha Maiko is perfect for any day and the reason I love this place is because the quality has been consistent for the past couple of years i've been coming here! The Matcha Maiko Team is friendly and works effortlessly when getting orders to everyone, even on a busy day! I come here so often that Adrian who works there, remembers my order and has it done before I pay lol! I find happiness in this cute little place and also in the great tasting matcha and ice cream they serve! Best Matcha in town!

i'm a huge hojicha lover and have been seeking a solid hojicha/matcha mochi parfait spot in the bay area after having my favorite one in seattle. spent the day at japantown and decided to satisfy my hojicha cornflake mochi craving at matcha cafe maiko :,)// ambiance //this location is in the bottom floor of japantown (it can get hot). the store has some space to stand but most people take their drinks/ice cream to go. there's some indoor seating in the building but i took mine outside and ate it where it was cooler.// service //luckily i came ~2pm on a sunday and the line was pretty short. my order was ready in around 5 minutes. they call your name/order # when it is ready.// price + portion //the maiko special parfaits are $9.99. for me, it is worth it since soft serve is $6.40 and the special comes with so many more toppings which make it complete imo.// maiko special (with hojicha) $9.99 //hojicha soft serve, mochi, chestnut, cornflakes, red bean, jelly, matcha cake and a bit of matcha soft serve at the bottom. my favorite parts are the mochi, soft serve, and cornflakes. cake is a little dry and small amounts of red bean and jelly, their hojicha is on the milder side (more milky/sweet) but it still has that nice roasted green tea flavor i was looking for.// would i reorder/return? //there are several matcha cafe maikos in the bay area. i would return if i was craving a matcha or hojicha parfait. otherwise, if you're looking for stronger matcha, i'd probably go somewhere else

Yummy ice cream that you should to try when you come to visit JP town! we just called them earlier before we go to try their flavor of the month. Unfortunately, this month they only have 1 new flavors which is coffee. My mom is really love it, not too sweet for her and taste so good if your order it with the coffee matcha latte float. Highly recommend!
