Matcha Cafe Maiko

Located on the second floor of stonestown. The line will look long but they’re pretty efficient and I appreciated how quickly the staff seemed to move through all the orders. I got the matcha soft serve cone which comes on a fresh waffle cones. The cone comes dusted with matcha to amp up flavor. The soft serve was smooth and very matcha-y.

Some of the cons to this location is that there isn’t a lot of seating in the area and the line seemed to snake into the general walkway which makes it kind of awkward and cramped to maneuver in this space from the cashier stand to the waiting area. There were also no napkins which just makes eating a cone difficult.

Rating is more for the food as this is just a grab and go spot.

This specific location has really terrible matcha drinks. Every time I’ve had matcha here it tastes like cereal milk and looks like a pale green milky color. The SF Japantown location is much better.

Makes me so so very sad that they dont deliver anymore. 💔💔💔💔

We had dinner at a neighboring restaurant and then stopped by here for a vanilla soft serve. Delicious. Only slightly sweetened with a smooth texture. Portion size was average but the quality of the product overdelivered.

The lady at the cashier just left people waiting there without taking orders. Poor service

This Maiko actually needs to lock in😔second time going and disappointed again… why is there like 1/2 teaspoon of matcha in a 8 dollar drink. Pls be serious

I feel sorry for the employees here. They appear miserable and lack customer service training. They mistakenly gave me a golden matcha ice cream instead of the regular one but then the guy decided to take a large bite and throw it in front of me lol

Proper, authentic matcha!! 10/10

The matcha soft serve here is so delicious that I often come back for it — it’s honestly one of my favorites. However, there’s one short, chubby man who serves it, and he’s quite unhygienic. He also tries to give very small portions. I honestly prefer not to get my ice cream from him.

Went to the mall bathroom and witnessed one of the employees of this place wearing their employee shirt use the restroom and NOT WASH THEIR HANDS! She walked right past the sink. Made my jaw drop. I will not be coming back here again due to health concerns

Very delicious! I'm not into matcha but my wife is, and I get the matcha soft serve in a cone and it's sooooo good.

You get a smaller portion if you don’t tip? The Ube flavor one was bought from last week. The matcha one I just bought today, the portion is significantly smaller than the one from last week. I thought there is a standard portion that they have to follow when they train their staff. I wouldn’t be making the same purchase if I see this staff on shift.
