Food was decent but service felt slow for a half-full dining space. They have a GREAT wine list with really fun Italian wines at accessible prices. Bathrooms were super cute! Overall design was decent as well considering the narrow space.

This restaurant is exceptional. We go regularly and every dish is fantastic (I particularly love the Crespelle, very unique, and the box cut spaghetti is really heartwarming and light at the same time, and the roast chicken is the best I’ve had in my 18 years of fine dining in San Francisco). It’s elevated but not fussy Italian, with beautiful fresh ingredients and nice wine and service. Highly recommend this place.

OMG!! The portions are literally minuscule. You will spend $100 per person just to get a decent quantity of food. The wine pours are equally skimpy. And of course the only reasonable priced beer was unavailable. The food is super tasty, but the portions are so mean this place actually revives the alternate meaning of the word "mean".

Very much our lunch. Highly recommend the meatballs and bruschetta.. both appetizers, but can easily be a meal. Mimosas were also very tasty.

Very bad service, please hire better team otherwise you’re ruining your own business. The waiter at the front was extremely rude and I was not feel welcomed. While we were seated there’s another table was frustrated and have to leave the restaurant because they has been asking for help many times and no one responded to them, and even on the way out, the waiter did not apologized and responded with coolness. I don’t know what happen to this waiter, but from the first moment I step into the restaurant he has been being impolite.

My friends and I were definitely in a mood for a pasta when we went out together for a mini-reunion. I have to say, everything that we have tried and according to them, it was ab-so-lute-ly delicious. The service was nice, and so is the atmosphere of the restaurant. As much as I love to recommend going here, it's never enough to convince someone through the internet. It's a bit of an exaggeration, but convince yourself and your friends to come here. The food they offer was a delicacy. Thank you!

Server was very helpful with wine pairing. We split the duck ravioli and lasagna and weren't disappointed.

Everything was great @ Mattina. We got a place to park across the street! We had excellent service. Each dish was better than the last. We had the Little Gems salad and fresh mozzarella with house pickled veggies and a toasted French bread to die for. Then for dessert we had the bambolini—wow. Thank you for making our brunch and keeping your impeccable standards. (P.S. I am a foodie and have been disappointed with most restaurants, even in the City.)Vegetarian options: There are plenty vegetarian options with the vegetables well-preparedParking: Street

After some shopping, we were in the mood for pasta, so we walked into this place. The first alarm bell should have been that we immediately were asked if we had a reservation. The restaurant didn't look busy at all, and how long does a lunch usually take? Our choices were reduced to the bar, or a side table near a drafty wall. Alarm bell number two was when the waiter asked if we had eaten there before. When we said no, he proceeded to explain "how things work" (we're familiar with how restaurants work, by the way). We each ordered a pasta and a side dish. The flavors were good, but the portions were dismally small. The food was over in three bites. The waiter had said "All of our dishes are meant to be shared", so we were expecting something shareable, and that's not what we got. The only thing the restaurant was generous with was the amount of salt in the dishes. No other customers came in the entire time we had lunch, so the question about having a reservation didn't make sense. This lunch wasn't cheap. Two people, no beverages other than tap water, two pastas and two sides, $100+ with tip. And we were still hungry.

Went to Mattinna for weekend breakfast. It appears to be a cafe during breakfasts hours. It's very cute inside. I was surprised it was empty because it was so cute and the food was really good. It's a little awkward when you enter because it looks like you should wait to be seated but you actually need to go to the counter to order. We got the vanilla bean cream and espresso with the prociutto and cheese biscuit. The biscuits were SCRUMPTIOUS and they gave a generous helping of prosciutto. The espresso was strong (as it should be). I'm excited to go back and try their breakfast bruschetta. It was very cozy inside and a nice rainy day breakfast.

Food was fine. Service was rushed. Side dishes were delivered after main courses were half eaten. Ambiance was nothing special. I probably won't go back.

Quality food, courteous service but understaffed. Conversations reflect and make the space noisy. A bit on the chilly side in terms of temperature.
