Don’t do it to yourself. Decided to come here instead of underdogs, huge mistake. The Michelada was bomb, but holy crap WORST TACOS ever. The Xool was mediocre at best, the rest were absolutely awful. Meat was overcooked and dry, the flavors were just not it. You’re paying for a premium taco, but WHERE WERE THE PREMIUM flavors?! Bland as heck!! Sorry, I thought it would’ve been better and I don’t usually do reviews. This is a sad place. Every single taco was bad, flavorless, and a pathetic excuse at “fine dining.” Save yourself the money, go down the street to Safeway, buy some microwaveable taco meat, some tortillas, and I promise it will be better. 🤷🏽‍♂️ hurts but it’s honest.

First time at Merkado and loved it. The staff was very attentive, the food was great, and the owner was super nice and friendly. We are actually booking the back room for my sons wedding.

We came for brunch and it was a nightmare. I ordered chorizo with eggs over hard and corn tortillas and my husband ordered the bennie and Coffee. They came back and said they had no chorizo… in a Mexican restaurant??? So I changed it to bacon, they brought my bacon out and nothing else. They brought my husband his coffee, but they couldn’t find any cream in the restaurant?? Other people had ordered after us and they have their food. 40 minutes later the waitress noticed I had bacon (now cold) and apologized. I’m sitting here still waiting for my order I received my order and my eggs were runny.

The manager was very apologetic and comped my meal and welcomed us back for another meal. He was very polite and very nice.

I am not big on google reviews, but this one is very much required.

My friends and I walked in and were told to sit at the bar. We did as instructed, ordered drinks and food, and were then asked for IDs after placing our order. One of my friends was denied service because they claimed she “didn’t look old enough” - very cool.

Instead of resolving the situation with any professionalism, we were shoved into a corner table and had to carry our own seats. Halfway through our food and drinks, we were abruptly asked to leave without explanation - and even told to never come back.

I’ve never experienced such disrespectful, condescending treatment at a restaurant. If Mercado thinks this is acceptable customer service, they have no business being in hospitality.

Avoid this place - there are plenty of restaurants in the area that know how to treat people with basic courtesy.

One-Star (would give zero if I could)

I’ve had more pleasant experiences waiting at the DMV on a Monday morning than I did inside this “restaurant.” We were shoved into a corner, ignored for what felt like geological time, and then without so much as a raised voice or a single sip of alcohol my completely legal-age friend was abruptly told to “leave cause you are underage”.

Service? Non-existent. Hospitality? A myth. The only thing delivered promptly was attitude. They kicked us out after we hadnt even finished our drinks that they charged 30 dollars for lol.

If you’re craving disappointment garnished with disrespect, by all means, give them your money. Otherwise, save yourself the headache, there are gas-station microwaves with better customer service (and probably fresher food).

It’s was actually amazing! The food tasted fresh, and authentic, and the vibe was very good. We were sat in the patio and everything was amazing. (Extra points for the fact they were playing Shakira!)

The drinks were fine, but the food was dry, bland, and mid. Our group got food poisoning after eating the food. I wouldn't recommend falling for this tourist trap if you want mediocre food that could get you sick.
