Minnie’s is such an excellent addition to Fillmore. Fried chicken, mac n cheese, cornbread and pudding are 10/10 amazing. All American food cooked to perfection.

My husband and I are originally from Atlanta but have been living in SF for about 3 years now. I’ve always felt like the southern food scene here was severely lacking until we tried Minnie Bell’s. We gave this new restaurant a shot one night and WOW were we blown away. This is truly the best soul food in SF and it’s not even close. The extra crispy & seasoned fried chicken, the thick mac and cheese, and the slightly sweet cornbread remind me so much of my aunt’s cooking. We enjoyed it so much that we ordered it for dinner two nights in a row…something we’ve never done before. But we’re glad to have found a spot in San Francisco that reminds us of home. Can’t wait to come back!

Delicious food! We had the fried chicken, roasted chicken, house salad, yams, greens, mac and cheese and cornbread. EVERYTHING was delicious, like sitting in grandma's kitchen delicious. Can't wait to come back. I was totally full adterwards, but had to order the oxtail risotto for tomorrow because the restaurant is closed on Sundays.

Can’t say enough positive things about Minnie Bell’s. In my capacity as a chef from South Carolina, I am no stranger to fried chicken and this ranks among my favorites. I ate there with the lady and two friends from Virginia, and we all agreed it was the first time we’ve had a meal that tasted like home in a long while. So good. They nailed the seasoning on every single dish.
Also, don’t sleep on the specials. We had an oxtail risotto that was easily one of the best entrées I’ve had at any restaurant in San Francisco in a long time, white tablecloth spots included. Out of this world.
Thank you guys for doing what you do. I’ll see you soon. Any possibility we can get some fried okra?? ?

Crispy, crunchy, juicy heaps of yardbird!
Took the Little Lady here on a Saturday evening and, to our delight and astonishment, we were seated without any wait at all. The Maitre-d was a picture of Southern hospitality and our waiter was Johnny-on-the-spot.
What the menu lacks in variety, it makes up for in perfection. We eagerly sunk our teeth into those well-battered pieces of fried chicken and the resulting crunching-sounds nearly shook the pictures off the walls. Yes, fingers were licked.
For a San Francisco restaurant, the prices are almost absurdly low. Get some now while the gettin' is good.
Also, most extraordinary for a soul food restaurant, I scoured the menu for a single morsel of pork and came up empty-handed. No lard, no chops, no hocks, no trotters. If you're keeping kosher or watching your cholesterol, give this joint a go.

If the food hadn’t been so incredible, the most memorable part would have been the people. So friendly, so sweet. But the food is that good. The chicken was excellent, as everyone says. But the surprising MVP was the banana pudding. Neither my wife nor I will ever forget that. And we’ll be racing back as soon as we can!
