A special place in the sweet spot between comfortable and upscale, special occasion and every day. I was skeptical about Mexican Persian as a food category, but I'm now a believer. Excellent fish, chicken, beef, in skewers and as main dishes. Even the cocktails nod toward both in varying proportion. I've been to Movida a number of times, and look forward to many more.
We went to this restaurant for the first time, but they messed up on every single order that we got, which was four different dishes . Service was not good Food quality was okay
We had an outstanding meal there. Our waiters were amazing and gave amazing suggestions only wish we lived closer so we could come more often!
Great fusion of flavors, my date & I were very impressed and satisfied with the food and service. The cocktails were some of the best I've had in San Francisco & I'm still thinking about how good the guacamole was!
Since we had to wait for our table, the delightful hostess treated all 3 of us for drinks and appetizer at the bar while we waited. Food eclectic and very good!
My first time to this restaurant. Saw this Michelin restaurant in facebook. It looked very impressed so I decided to go try. When I walked in, it looked like a bar and it doesn't looked like a restaurant. So the host seated us down and found out she's our waitress too. Shima was very nice. CHILOSA drink tasted so refreshing and the tacos were delicious. Persian tea was good too. But the saffron prawns were bland not too much flavor. Fried chicken was crispy with no bones. Only street parking no parking lot that's a minus. Good luck to find one. After all it was a nice experience food was totally different from what I normally ordered from other restaurants
Beautiful venue- music kept at the exact right level, where it is heard but not a deterrent to conversation (7pm on a Saturday). Drinks were thoughtful, vibrant, and well made. Menu was solid, with a nice range of options. Would definitely come back
Great set of cocktails!!!..... Ambience, music, live dj too good...... Service was top notch for me and my wife......impressed!!!..... Great place to hangout with friends, have drinks, enjoy music, chill........ Food was good and perfect options to go with your drinks and mexiacn-persian combo works..... Recommended 100% and going back again!!!!...
I came in with high expectations but left disappointed. We ordered two small plates and two entrées. The pomegranate chicken tacos lacked flavor, and the filet mignon skewer was mushy, likely over‑tenderized, and bore little resemblance to a Persian kabob. Both were under‑seasoned. The lamb chile relleno was heavy, with a strong gamey taste and no sauce to balance it. The bright spot was the birria tostada on a tadig base: crisp, flavorful, with excellent birria and a generous portion. Unfortunately, the tres leches cake was unimpressive; I've had better from a grocery store. The coffee was strong and enjoyable, and the waitstaff were pleasant and attentive. Seating was awkward. One side had booths, while the other had short, backless chairs that felt toy‑like. My 6'4” companion found them especially uncomfortable. Despite a few positives, the overall experience was disappointing, and we don't plan to return.
Short rib tostada and eggplant dip were both delicious. I felt the guac and oico were just average though. Service was just ok—took about 10 minutes to get water when I first sat down. Place aesthetically is very cute though. Would probably give a second try

Food was honestly pretty mediocre (particularly for the price) and felt baited by the fake Michelin sign outside.
To have a 2 star Michelin food was over price we paid over $200 for 2 people the food was ok . The waitress over lapping the plates coming over every 2 minutes to lift a plate it was a little annoying to me . We ordered steak was too dry
Impressed with subtle flavors which elevated each dish showcasing both cultures Mexican and Persian. Everything was so tasty and enjoyable. Super bartenders Pablo and Jorge who work magic on their cocktails, totally different and special. The location was low key and unassuming, but very impressive once inside. We were met by the owner Sheena, and immediately made to feel welcome and at home. Big thank you to all, we were looking for different , and found it. It was a great start to our journey to Armenia! Will definitely be back.
The food was excellent, but the service was a bit slow and not very attentive, even though the restaurant was not busy.
Everything was delicious.
