I've been vegan for almost 7 years and have had many a burger, so when I read another review that Mr. Charlie's had the best vegan burger, I was skeptical.
This place makes a damn good burger. The branding is really cute, and there being a McDonald's across the street really adds to the place feeling like a genuine satirical statement.

Absolutely keeping the box and bag my food came in, ordered mini burger but it was the same size as a regular mcd's hamburger and nowadays it's the same price if not cheaper than the real thing! The fries were to die for, the booths are fun and comfortable, I get why this place is popular. Will be back next visit to SF for sure!

This place tries very hard to be the vegan McDonalds, with very similar looking and tasting food. It tasted good, fries were amazing, staff was friendly. But in total the place seemed a bit run down, the menu on the wall was taped over multiple times and didnt show prices. Seating very limited and tight.

Went right around the time they opened and all the decor is very cool. Many people were walking by and even inside to take pictures. I ordered the The Frownie Deluxe meal, it was decent! I got it with the chipotle mayo which I wouldn't recommend. The person who took our order was on her phone texting while taking it which was weird. I was excited to be there and the staff would have made a better impression/experience if they looked like they wanted to actually be there.
Fun to go once, never need to go again.

I was intrigued by the satirical concept. I got their breakfast sandwich just to see what vegan cheese and egg taste like, and it was shockingly close to the real thing. Service was nice, they made my food to order and it only took 5 minutes or so.Some small downsides - I wasn't impressed with them not serving coffee (their coffee machine was "on the way"), and they couldn't accept my payment in cash (register did not have enough change for payment with $10).Otherwise I'd definitely come here again if I were a local in search of vegan fast food.

Amazing food, tastes great and a real treat as a visiting/travelling vegan foodie just wanting a 'naughty/cheat' fast food style meal. Had delivery so cannot comment on ambiance or service but food arrived well presented, hot and to the correct spec. 10/10 - look forward to visiting in person soon.
