I really wanted to like Nande-Ya, especially since it's located in Japan Town, but unfortunately, it didn't meet my expectations. The restaurant was busy, which I understand — but the service felt off from the start. The staff wasn't very friendly, and it took a while for someone to even take our order.

As for the food, I was hoping for authentic Japanese flavors, but it honestly tasted like it wasn't made by a Japanese-owned business. The salmon bowl with ikura was good. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen and it tasted pretty bland.

What really threw me off was the 18% gratuity automatically added to the bill — especially with the lack of service. I don't mind tipping, but it felt a little forced given the overall experience.

Not sure if I'll be coming back, but I hope they improve their service in the future!

This restaurant was very busy and noisy during our holiday visit. The ramen was bland, and the assorted sashimi consisted of small portions.

Got there on a Monday during lunch rush. I don’t eat Japanese food much but I got the Tokyo shoyu and karrage rice bowl. I like the broth, quite mild in flavor but plenty good. I’m a noodle guy.

Lame food, too much rice. If you dont have enough experience with Japanese food you wouldnt understand.
Horrible services, came by every 5 min to see if we wanted anything else while we were still eating. One time a waitress almost took my plate from my behind while I was eating. Very rude and impatient. I think this place has a new owner; it wadnt bad like this at least 2 years ago.

The waitress/host of the restaurant has a face looks like people owe her a lot of money?? Not friendly at all (like some Japanese restaurants so polite), no smile and service is just bad. I ordered one California roll to go and she told me 10 min, I waited for 30 minutes on a weekday…and when she gave me the food, she just had this poker face on her, no sorry, thank you or anything. Bad service, food is alright, will not return.

Yakiniku was just okay. It needed to be sliced more thinly and was overcooked. Chashu pork was tasty. Rice was too dry. The staff is excellent, but this place has a 3.4 overall rating at the moment for a reason.

Inattentive service, an uninterested and sullen waiter and a tiny portion of food are not worth the money. Stay away

I live next to Japan town for the past 25 years it had change a lot . Nowadays Most stores in Japanese town are chinese faking as Japanese restaurants “Japanese don’t do much rolls “ 🤣 especially all those toy stores “they don’t even dear list their stores here” that’s why no photo in stores cos they are $1 toys from china ….. the only one are real Japanese are near the book store side ! Don’t know how rental office could have let this happen ! Shame!!!

I tried the “Karaage Tonkotsu” ramen and really liked it! The taste was excellent, the service was great, and the atmosphere was nice. Overall, I enjoyed it.

Food was good, got the salmon don and dragon roll. Nice decorations, feels like I’m in Japan. Nice more Japanese restaurant, good with friends or with family

The food was very mid. Got a beef bowl and it barely had any beef. Tasted like boiled beef. Chicken Katsu curry was very ok

The soy sauce ramen broth had no flavor, the bamboo shoots were bland, and the pork wasn’t marinated. I also found a small plastic piece in the soup, though they did remake the dish. Overall, the flavor was disappointing, so I wouldn’t recommend it.
