I love this place. The bartenders are friendly, wonderful, and very attentive. Everyone knows each other and if you walk in and don't know someone, give it time, and everyone will know you. They have a great bar selection with a plethora of 0 alcohol beverages, 0 alcohol beer, 0 alcohol cider, and they even have herbal tea and coffee- it's a great bar to hang out at if you want to enjoy the bar atmosphere and not have a hangover the next day. Nickie's was great! We visited San Francisco for my birthday and it was close to our hotel and just what we needed... A fun bartender, cheap drinks, and great locals to chat with. No frills, didn't try the food, just there for the late night mellow dive.
