This hotel is inexpensive bc of its location, on polk in the TL. If you don't mind that location it's actually a decent hotel updated, modern, it is still coming back from under construction so not everything is working

Nice hotel with great value. The neighborhood was a bit sketchy, but the location of the hotel is also adequate for travelers. The room was clean and nice. Highly recommend this place when you're looking for a good, affordable place!Noteworthy details: It seems the hotel doesn't provide laundry service(my guess). You might need to visit near laundromat to wash your clothes.

Avoid this place at ALL COSTS. You will never get to sleep, and you will leave missing most of your sanity. They have a crackhead/meathead resident now that yells, screams, and curses all night long as loud as he can, and the walls are paper thin. The staff claim they can't do anything about it, and won't do anything about it. I tried several times, even called the police for noise complaints at 3:00 AM, nothing worked.

Poor customer service, horrible location in the city. Wouldn't recommend it at all when it comes to a big city stay. They have no parking, and the staff do not seem to care. I couldn't find a way to get to the hotel and they wouldn't even accommodate me and refund my room status. This hotel is not worth the price or the time of the day for the stay.

The whole thing is a scam. There is no free cancellation (even same day) and it was me and three other girls and about 50 homeless eyeballing our car. I called and they said there is no private parking, only street. Our van had a pop up on top and we weren’t risking anyone being in there when we woke up. So we’re out $175 because of course, they don’t give refunds. SCAM!!

Great for the price! Felt clean and staff were really nice. Location isn’t great and we could hear people stomping around in other rooms but when we called front desk to complain about the noise they were really nice and did what they could to help.

The receptionist was very helpful. The room was small but OK for a night. It was clean. Had WiFi. Good shower but oddly the bathroom door is a see through glass screen offering no privacy. Windows to room opens to a noisy street with sirens, shouting, car horns all night. Really dodgy and filthy outside..... Neighbourhood is not safe. Please do not walk around on your own late evening there. This is not the hotels fault. I'd stay again if its just a night or so. I felt safe once I was inside.

Hotel EPIK is an EPIK FAILURE!DO NOT STAY HERE!• Rated a 4 star hotel and was really 2-stars at bestMy room had a window that didn’t close properly, a broken air conditioner, damaged window coverings, the shower was missing the handle to turn on the water, a broken outlet cover with exposed wires, no refrigerator, no in-room safe, no restaurant or bar, not even a vending machine or place for ice.• Centrally located in an unsafe neighborhoodUber was a requirement and my driver said to me “you in the wrong neighborhood”. I was approached for money from a guy with a broken crack pipe in his hand when I standing in front of the hotel. A women on the corner was slumped over with a needle sticking out of her arm. The streets are full of trash and homeless camps. I didn’t feel safe walking.• Unknowledgeable staff and lack of a managerThe only people working the front desk were not regularly there and were unprofessional. They were not aware of the hotel layout, how to get coffee for the room, or how to contact the manager. I was told “the manager is unavailable because he was sleeping”, for 3 days! I came into the hotel and the person who was supposed to be at the front desk was sleeping on the sofa in the lobby.• Lack of respect for guestsConstruction work that started at 5:00AM with buzz saws and disassembly of furniture being scraped across the floors and down the halls. I complained and was told, “this is the time they start”.A false fire alarm at 4:17am. The only staff member of the hotel, the front desk person, did not know what to do; he didn’t apologize to the guests or even provide information that it was okay to go back to our rooms. With respect to my broken shower, I was told, “maintenance doesn’t work on the weekends”.I stayed here 2 nights of what was supposed to be a 5-night stay. I would never recommend anyone to stay here. The only positives I would give this hotel was that my room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

Called the front desk for the last two hours without anyone answering. Horrible customer service

Honestly one of the nastiest hotels I've been to. Hair one my bed that I never even laid in. The shower was absolutely disgusting. I would need to wear shoes if I was planning on even thinking about taking a shower. The location of the hotel was horrible. Not a single place to go. Every since street covered in trash, homeless people, drugs etc. literally a man passed out on drugs In the middle of the sidewalk. The pictures honestly do not look the same as the rooms. I was very disappointed and asked for a refund and went and stayed elsewhere. Somewhere I felt more safe.

Little rooms, but no problem. The rooms are very clean and operational. I just wasn't to hip about the area, lots of homeless people. But my stay was great, FYI no

First the area is in a very bad neighborhood and I was robbed. I had booked a room for 5 days, but didn’t come back after the 1st night there. Second the service was late and very bad. The ac didn’t work and the rooms are nothing like promised. I found an alternative place to stay and ask for a refund. They would give me any refund.

Me and my fiancé, planned a super last minute San Francisco trip and this is the first cheap & nice looking hotel. BUT, when we got there it was a different story. When we checked in the Lady in front lobby didn't even really acknowledge us, she was too busy talking on the phone she asked us for I.D and shooed us off. Also, just in case anyone wants too know, the rooms are extremely small, walls are so thin you can hear people sneezing & talking. Don't get me wrong the rooms and everything were super clean, clean pillows, and sheets. The streets outside are filled with bums, me & my fiancé got offered drugs down the street. Nothing around this area looking comforting. Parking isn't free, when on there website it says it is. The closest parking garage was trying too charge us $120 for 2 nights. Over all a decent hotel, just the outside isn't so pretty.
