Octavia was a great date night. We are from out of town and it is located in a quiet part of the city. We had last minute outdoor dining reservations. Inside looks nice and upscale while still being comfortable. We sat in one of their wood street seating areas that had amazing heaters and a beautiful olive tree with lights for ambiance. No liquor here, but my wife had one of their house cocktails and it was really good. The sea bass was perfectly cooked and the buttersquash pasta was nice as well. This is our second visit in a month, having the tasting menu. It continues to be insanely delicious. The room gets pretty noisy making conversation difficult, so I'd advise reserving an early table if that bothers you. That's the only reason for the not-quite-perfect rating.

Octavia has to be one of the best restaurants in San Francisco. The oysters were stellar with great juice. The duck was tender and tasty. The Trifle was innovative combining some cake with gelato. Great service from Eli and Chris. Overall, a fantastic experience.

when we came to the restaurant they told us that we will have table outdoor of the main restaurane in a wooden coridor. They told us that the place is full and we can go to anouthr place. It was raining out side and I don"t think that we had any other option. They gave us table near the enterance, it was raining and water came inside the room under my legs. It was cold. We insisted to change the place and they moved us to anuther table. We felt very bad and the only good thing was our waiter that did his best to give us good service.

Just a little too much salt added to my cod main course and my wife's chicken main course. Very clear salty taste. The table next to us sent back a dish for the same reason. But the food quality was excellent.
