Great food from Chef and his team. Chill vibe with the live jazz music. Always enjoy ourselves at Old Skool!

The food, service, ambience, music...everything was FANTASTIC. What a wonderful place. We will definitely come back soon- a great place to bring out of town guests or celebrate a special event...or just have a really great date night. We had dinner here and then went to a comedy show at Speakeasy Brewery around the corner- so fun!

Great place, great music, delicious food, and an even better cause behind it all. ? Loved the energy of everyone there. Had multiple people stop by our table to say hello and make sure we had everything we needed/we were enjoying ourselves. We came on a Wednesday so the hours and food options were limited, but it was still a perfect introduction to the place. Will definitely come back!

This establishment is definitely a diamond in the rough, an amazing find for our large group! From the staff, the food, the live music, the ambiance, this was hands down one of the greatest experiences I've had in a long while! The chef came out to the table, we enjoyed every bit of the Old Skool Cafe! Thank you guys! Keep doing such a great thing!

The mission of this place is of course the reason it exists - but here's the thing, it's absolutely a really good dining experience just on those terms. We've probably been six or seven times now and it is consistently enjoyable. The young wait staff are always charming, the drinks are great, and the food is well-prepared and really good. (We keep coming back to the short ribs and fried chicken, but I think I need to try the shrimp next time.) Plus, up-and-coming young jazz musicians to set the mood! If you're on the fence - just go already. You'll love it and you'll tell your friends. :)

Was in the area and stumbled upon this soul food restaurant. Who doesn't love a feel good story about someone giving back to the community! It's a walk right into the roaring 1920s inside the establishment. They had live jazz and all the staff dressed the part. I ordered the peanut stew and my wife ordered the Fried Chicken. We both really enjoyed our dishes! The peanut stew was warm and comforting. All the staff were extremely accommodating and attentive. All and all, I would for sure check out this unique place in BayView again!

Simply amazing. As someone born & raised in Georgia, I approve this place! From the time you walk in to the time you walk out, everything is superb. I had the smothered porkchop with Georgia grits, root vegetables, and whiskey mushroom gravy. Roommates had the gumbo and short rib. We tried a bunch of apps and the lavender cheesecake. 10/10 and it goes towards an important cause

Delicious food (definitely try the peanut butter stew), great service, and I really like the speakeasy vibes. I've been here twice and I would definitely go back.

The atmosphere was great, the food was even better, and the staff were top notch. Great concept and we love that they are helping local youth. Would highly recommend 1000 times over.

Old Skool Cafe is a youth-run, jazz-themed supper club. It is a faith-based, violence prevention program, that provides job training, employment, and a second chance at life by way of a 1920's speakeasy, jazz restaurant, run by at-risk, formerly incarcerated, and foster care youth ages 16-22. The food, service, and ambience were incredible. Highly recommended. Pictured here are sweet potato rolls, catfish fingers!, shrimp and grits, fried chicken, and sweet potato tartlets. I love their mission and food. This is a must do.

SF Restaurant Week SpotlightI’m from the south and this soul food hit the spot. The smothered chicken, mashed potatoes, and collard greens ?! And the collards were not cooked in pork (no pork on my fork), seasoning was perfect! Gravy on the chicken I could have quite literally sopped (southern slang) it up with a biscuit! The sweet potato tartlet has me excited for Thanksgiving with family! Can I order a whole pie?!?Cotton Club and French 75, perfect!Almost forgot the complimentary sweet potato biscuits at the start of your meal! There was no picture because I demolished in two seconds!I will definitely be back!#SFrestaurantweek #eatdrinkSF #speakeasy #nonprofit #soulfood #BayareaEats
