What a wonderful sushi spot! Chef Sakuraba was outstanding. The unagi don was very large, delicious, and filling. The chicken teriyaki was also amazing. The service was great. The next time I'm back in SF, I will return for sure.

Perhaps I had an unusual experience, but unfortunately it wasn’t a pleasant one. I ordered a Philadelphia roll, a salmon avocado roll, and salmon nigiri. The two rolls were both warm. Not in the made fresh kind of way, but like they had been sitting out for a while. The rice was gummy, and the salmon in the salmon avocado roll tasted so fishy that I could only manage to eat two of the six pieces. The salmon nigiri tasted great, but the proportions were wild! This little place, within easy walking distance to Union Square and so many hotels, was absolutely a pleasant surprise. I thought it was a really good value for what I got (bento, maki handroll, lg hot sake for $41 before tip). Service was exemplary, and the atmosphere was surprisingly homey. Was it the best I've ever had? No. Am I going back? Yes!
