The service was EXCELLENT, the food needs a little more flavor from PR but it was delicious and the pork was on point. I recommend it 100%

Parking: The best option is to come by public transportation. It is difficult to find parking. It was Sunday and I found it nearby, but the other time I had to walk several blocks but it was worth it.

I went for lunch today and as a Puerto Rican man who grew up with parents from the island, it’s hard to fool me on the food.

1. We were told they were on a wait, and to add our names to the clipboard which we did. After 5 minutes another group came (of 3) and they placed their names on the clipboard as well. A few minutes later, a group of 4 came. Apparently, they didn’t like that myself and the other group were Puerto Rican, because they skipped over us and sat the group of 4. So we waited.

2. When we finally walked back in the hostess had quite an attitude, I’m sure because she was caught being messy.

3. The food is okay people. After seeing some of these reviews I can understand why they think the food is authentic, but it isn’t. Neither is the vibe. I even had to ask who in the restaurant was Puerto Rican, because although there were Latin people, they were definitely not from the islands, I’m guessing Mexican. I don’t discriminate but coming from a Puerto Rican family we would have to have someone there if we owned a restaurant.

4. The food has little to no flavor. Generally, our food is salty ( I must confess), but never lacks flavor. That could have been any rice Asian, Indian, Mexican. Sorry folks not a home town favorite or a favorite at all.

I think they use the name Puerto Rican food to make them look like Latinos because it has NOTHING to do with Puerto Rican food. "Spanish" Amogolla'o rice is not masonry rice, bland beans without color and without flavor. A steak that they ask you how long you want it as if it were churrasco and when it arrives it is something similar to churrasco (but it wasn't churrasco). It wasn't steak either. Very expensive and without variety on the menu. Whoever finds it good doesn't really know the Puerto Rican seasoning.

Place was pretty busy. It was nice and cozy, food came out a little slow but service was great. The food portions were large and definitely enjoyable but maybe not enough to come back.

The dishes are authentic Puerto Rican food, just like my titi's. Seating can take awhile and service is slow but worth the wait.

I am disappointed because your a PR restaurant and you don't sell any of the traditional food like Alcapurria, relleno de papa and other main dishes.

The yuca in the vegetarian platter was flavorless. Service was slow - they just had 1 guy serving and 1 cook in the back on a busy Saturday night. They were doing their best but the owner needs to hire more people to make their lives easier.

Vegetarian options: Limited vegetarian options.

Very average service and there are no vegetarian options, everything is combined with pork. We couldn't eat there and the waiter/cook insisted that we could have a salad.

Came in starving and exhausted, grateful for it being fairly quiet on a Friday lunchtime.

For my first time trying Puerto Rican food, I asked for a gluten free recommendation: the waiter suggested the Pernil Asado. The food was delicious, the rice so flavourful and the pork so tender. The plantains are not suitable for coeliacs because of cross contamination in the fryers but fine for me as a gluten intolerant person and were my favourite bit of the dish.

The food came really fast! Service was very good. Atmosphere wise, the music is fairly loud but not painfully so, nice decor, and there is semi-covered outdoor seating for those days when it's warm enough.

Dietary restrictions: Menu is not marked up with what's GF but there are options. The waiter could make gluten free suggestions, and had a solid understanding of cross-contamination risks and double checked with me what I was ok with.

Fantastic food and service. Alonso was very friendly and kept checking on us to ensure we had everything we needed. Building is old but very clean. We are outdoors and still received exceptional service. I had Pernil Asado and my friend had Chicharrones de pollo. Everything was fantastic. The rice and beans were wonderful as well as the main dishes. Will return.
