Don’t come here if you want your mood ruined. Staff very rude and inconsiderate. I planned to come here to work 5:30-7:00pm bought a coffee and planned to use the restroom. I asked before buying the coffee hey will the restroom be open cause I plan on sticking around and working for a while and if so ill check another place, the girl working said yes it will be open in 30. I came back in 40 minutes after I ordered my drink and worked and the dude on the cashier was like no you can’t use it it’s closed I don’t care. They are still open for another hour and closing it which is fine, if they haven’t told me a different story to begin with. Like treat people with some dignity and respect please.

AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID. I Stopped off here yesterday for a large cappuccino o and a cinnamon bun. The cappuccino was vile it was about 3 ounces of liquid in a large cup filled with foam and my Cinnamon bun, well…….. it must have been sitting in the display for about a week it was so stale and old you could literally hear it snap when I tore a piece off it.

The plant-based sandwich was great — definitely worth a try. Peet’s offers really solid vegan options in general.

It’s sad to see in 2024 big companies charging lactose intolerant customers for substituting regular dairy with almond milk. I’m lactose intolerant and I had to pay $0.80 more just to change the milk, I know it’s not a lot but it’s sad to witness this greedy corporate mentality
Always a pleasure with a why bother and

I’ve patroned Peet's in Berkeley and San Francisco for about fifteen years. In that time, I’ve spent thousands of dollars on tea and tips, and I routinely steered friends, family, and anyone I met in Peet’s direction. No more.
Today, I witnessed the manager at the Market Street/Castro location threaten and publicly scold a customer because he wasn’t wearing a shirt. This customer walked in without a shirt, paid for a cup of tea and was served by Peet's staff without a shirt, and sat quietly doing work on in his laptop at one of the tables without shirt for approximately half an hour. Suddenly, and for no apparent reason, a man identifying himself as the manager came out from the back of the store and loudly told this customer to leave or he would call the cops.
The manager did not politely ask this customer to put his shirt on or politely ask him to leave—instead, he immediately went full tilt: get out or I’m calling the cops. The manager did not offer to refund this person his money, or the money of any of the other customers who the manager disturbed with this unnecessary display of aggression. I felt so uncomfortable by the manager's actions that I packed up my own stuff and left--not because one of the customers didn't have a shirt on, but because of the manager's behavior!
The Castro is all about inclusivity, acceptance, and positivity. If, as it currently appears, Peet's does not share in these values, then I will no longer patron its cafes. The manager's job is inherently one of customer service. That means treating others with common, basic decency. It's not often I witness another person mistreating someone else to such a degree that I would write publicly about the event, let alone alter my long-term tea-drinking habits. This event however was too significant to ignore. I sincerely hope Peet's takes decisive action to address this issue. Until then, you can find me at Philz.

Neighborhood Peet’s!
This location here in the Castro is great!
The employees always try to get every order correct and the drinks are always so good!
I had a breakfast sandwich here before and that was good too.
There are always plenty of seats cause this location is so big.
Thanks guys!

Very comfortable location to relax with a cup of coffee and pastries. There are lots of sitting area and the place feel warm and inviting, much better space than Starbucks.

I was enjoying my coffee peacefully, when this worker approached another person. He head just purchased a coffee and say down. I couldn't get this workers name, because he refused to give it. But he was literally verbally berating this person for being homeless. Calling him trash and says he doesn't deserve to be here. The employee is an older man with glasses and a bald spot. Watch out for him. I'm not going to this Peet's anymore. I usually go to Starbucks on Divisidero. I promise I will not go to this Peet's ever again.
