Probably the worst Philz in the downtown area. And I feel like I’ve been to a lot.
It’s the only Philz that I have to ask for multiple remakes from(despite having been here a lot). I ask for my drink extra sweet, yet every time anybody from this location makes it, it’s unbearably bitter.
I would at least hope that with the drinks tasting horrible that the service would be good, but unfortunately no😪. Everybody on register treats me as a nuisance, and the people on bar come off so cold! This is only Philz where people are like this lol. I’m not rude! I don’t know why they’re like this!
Lobby is nice tho, even if seating is sometimes very limited.
I wish this wasn’t next to the MUNI station; it’s the only reason I keep ending up here. But I wish more that the baristas were better. From service to quality 💔

Me and my friend we love Philz but today we both agree, today, at this location, our favorite signature coffee tastes bad… 👎🏻

Had to leave a review because I couldn’t stop thinking about the other day when I was enjoying my coffee and a homeless man attacked the store! He destroyed the whole store throwing items like trash and merchandise and attacking an employee. I didn’t know what to do, they handled the situation well for only a few people running the store, I was scared for them I just had to run out of the building for my own safety but I saw them in there with the man. Don’t know what else occurred but hopefully everything is okay. Peace and love y'all

Great place in the heart of San Francisco, within walking distance of the stadium (a bit far but still walkable). There is a counter you can sit at which faces the window, and you can watch the city go by while drinking your coffee!

Parking: Parking is difficult as you'd expect.

Philz Coffee is a beloved coffee chain originating from San Francisco, known for its handcrafted, pour-over coffee made to order. With a focus on personalized blends and a welcoming vibe, it’s perfect for coffee lovers seeking a unique experience. Favorites include the Mint Mojito Iced Coffee and Tesora blend.i love it.

Below par Mocha Tesora. 4 baristas only one working. Too much gossip and to top it off my coffee sucked.

Note:This review went quickly from a 3 to a 1 because some nasty persons attitude that has degraded the service at this location overall.

I’ve been a loyal customer of this Philz Coffee for a long time, a loyal customer to this location for weeks if not months so to speak and I’m disappointed by the dramatic decline in service quality recently. When I first started coming here, the team was attentive, efficient, and welcoming—truly a joy to interact with. Sadly, those days seem to be gone.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve noticed a troubling pattern: the staff is often distracted by personal conversations, resulting in forgotten items on mobile orders and an alarming lack of professionalism. For instance, pastries are frequently missed, and when mistakes are pointed out, they’re met with dismissive attitudes.

My most recent visit was the final straw. My mobile order was supposed to be ready, but when I arrived, the staff seemed confused and unprepared. I politely pointed out that they were standing around chatting instead of addressing orders, and the barista’s response was shockingly unprofessional. After finally receiving my coffee, I discovered it was poorly made—rushed, bitter, and completely incorrect. When I brought this to the cashier’s attention, a staff member, who I suspect might be the manager, escalated the situation instead of resolving it.

This individual’s confrontational behavior is unacceptable in any customer-facing role. He got in my face, argued with me, and sarcastically encouraged me to “leave a review.” Well, here it is. The consistent disregard for customer experience, coupled with an unprofessional attitude, has completely ruined what was once my favorite coffee spot.

To management: I hope you seriously reevaluate the team dynamic at this location. No one should get into a customers face because the customer called them out for socializing too much, especially when he’s kindly explaining the situation. The quality of service has completely collapsed, and it’s driving loyal customers away. Until changes are made, I will no longer be visiting this Philz.

In the end I went Cafe Reveille where people were grateful for customers, while busy made time to say hi and happy Thanksgiving. Not be nasty and miserable like at Philz.

This was probably one of the worst mocha Tesoros I've had from any philz. It was super watered down and tasteless.

Philz Coffee: A Consistent Delight
I recently stopped by the Philz Coffee location near King and 4th in San Francisco, just a short walk from Caltrain. As always, the coffee was absolutely fantastic. My favorite is Tesora. Philz has a knack for crafting the perfect cup, no matter what blend you choose.
The staff at this particular location was particularly cheerful and welcoming. They made me feel right at home and were happy to answer any questions I had about the menu. It's always a pleasure to be greeted with such friendly service.
If you're looking for a reliable spot to grab a delicious cup of coffee in San Francisco, I highly recommend Philz Coffee near King and 4th. Their consistent quality and friendly staff make it a must-visit.

Great service. Great coffee. The unpackaged food looks disgusting. Flys and all sorts of things crawling all over them. You’d think they’d have food just for display and keep the rest in a fridge or container. I could not eat any of the pastries.

A tasty treat to brighten my day. The Sweet Harmony blend is quite interesting. Fresh mint can go a long way. Cinnamon rolls are warm and well crafted.

Love this location because you can see giant bunnies sometimes and it’s near a great area to stroll. Mint mojito if it’s your first time.
