Excellent espresso coffee, friendly service and a lovely brunch menu. I look forward to returning sometime for dinner. The chef’s were prepping a range of fresh looking ingredients and the smells emanating from the kitchen were beautiful!
I've been to a lot of great and good restaurants, and Piccino isn't one of them. It used to be a "neighborhood gem" in Dog Patch, with a friendly, millennial, counter-culture vibe and a stable, occasionally brilliant menu. I don't know what happened to them, but the last two times I've been there the vibe is gone, replaced by some kind of food mill: officious, almost rude, unhelpful, lackluster food, unfocused, not great. Piccino Coffee Bar in Dogpatch is a cute neighborhood spot with a mix of natural woods and homemade ceramics. They offer gluten-free and vegan desserts. The coffee is excellent, with options like iced mochas and vanilla lattes that are not too sweet. The ginger scones are a must-try. While the prices may be slightly high, the flavors and textures are remarkable. The shop is compact with no seating, but you can enjoy your drink at a nearby park. This is hands down the best coffee in Dogpatch, rich and smooth espresso, and silky steamed milk. They are open late from Wednesday to Sunday. Try their banana bread and mocha; absolutely fabulous. They also offer delicious and nutritious foods.
