Monte Cristo sandwich was to die for

We enjoyed our brunch at Plain Jane. The French toast waffle sandwich was the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had. The potatoes were perfectly crispy with amazing flavor. The coastal Benedict was also savory and perfectly seasoned. Amy made me the best coconut latte I have ever had! Would definitely return.

One of my favorite brunch places in the city. I really enjoy their chive pancakes and their hot chocolate!

I love Plane Jane's and Pancake Boy, their sister location. Just amazing. The PJ'S Monte Christo for the win šŸ† šŸ™Œ

I loved their huevos con chorizo. I wasn’t expecting 3 warm tortillas and a toasted jalapeƱo. It felt like home the avocado and aoli was incredible. Will be coming back again.

Food was decent but ultimately overshadowed by the inexplicably passive aggressive and poor service we received. The male waiter with glasses was rude every interaction with us, constantly hovered over our table, and then forced us and another table out at 2:10pm when we were clearly still eating. As other reviews have noted, don't seat people who can't have a fair amount of time to finish their food. This expectation was not clearly communicated to us or posted anywhere. I regret coming here and I especially regret leaving a tip.

Luckily this neighborhood has a wealth of good breakfast restaurants with great service, Plain Jane is not one of them. Go elsewhere unless you want to feel like you wasted your money like me 🄓

This spot absolutely delivers on a classic, satisfying breakfast and brunch. The value is spot-on for San Francisco; you get generous, well-prepared portions without the shocking big-city price tag.
I have to single out the stuffed French toast—it was incredible! Absolutely lived up to the hype and is a must-order.
Be prepared, especially on weekends, as it gets very busy. But honestly, the food is worth a little patience

Decent spot for brunch! Barely a line Sunday prime brunch time. Got a burger (have had better but that’s okay). Chicken waffle sandwich yummy, but reminds me of how grotesque American food can be sometimes. Seating outside, pleasant.

We went in to eat and was told no, they were closed 20 minutes before closing. Then he was going to seat us and said we can’t order half the menu. If you close at 2, then that is what you do, if you want to close at 1:40 then post that. I own a business in the hood and I would never do this even though I want to go home after working 10 hours. I also worked 2 years at Dottie’s breakfast place, I know how annoying it is, but that’s the job.

This is the ideal combination of a greasy spoon and a cafe. The inside is bright and the staff are quick and efficient. The food is expensive but very worth it relative to the other mediocre, overpriced breakfast spots in the city. There were 3 or 4 other parties ahead of us in line and we probably only waited for 15 minutes. Definitely will be back! The rolled cannoli pancakes were out of this world.
