Sticky tables and general disorder. The restaurant needs a good deep clean; the food was lacking flavor.
Just go for the food. That is all. Just. Go. 4. The. Food. The visual elements of the space are poorly maintained. The flavor and quality of the food was well above average 😋 👌

The food was definitely authentic and rather good, with adequate service though it did take -30 min to get our food because of a large group ahead of us. Unfortunately we were disappointed by the cleanliness and infrastructure of the restrooms as well as the “tax” that was added manually at the end of our meal, which amounted to ~22% of the total cost per the prices on the menu. For two people we ended up paying $60 and we don’t even drink alcohol. So I’d say this place is good but possibly overpriced for is offered

This place is fire! Got the poc chuc pork platter, it's huge. It's a bit pricey for a pop-in lunch but worth every penny. The pork tasted like it came right off the grill, the hot sauce was flavorful and obviously home made. I would come back anytime and try some of the other exotic dishes.

Mislabeled as Spanish and Mexican on yelp and Google. Mayan is not synonymous with and is distinct from both Spanish and Mexican cultures and languages. While Mayan cuisine can be included in Latin America, the more accurate description would be Mesoamerican.
It is wonderful to have Mayan cuisine represented. However, I am being generous by giving a two star rating.
The proteins were quite good overall. It is fun to get flavors that are unique such as poc chuc and pollo pibil. I enjoyed the mild salsa, though it wasn't very flavorful. I also enjoyed the fried plantains. The chips were over fried. We asked for refills of the small bowls which were served few and far between with observable disdain from the server.
The service was poor. There was one person in the kitchen and one person serving the front which resulted in waiting quite a long time for our food. The customer service was offensive to say the least.
Also, the website no longer functions and the receipts were unhelpful.
We came here because of its proximity and the higher reviews relative to other restaurants nearby. The reviews within our party were mixed.

A hidden gem. Some of the best salsa you'll eat in the city. The Poc chuc is grilled beef at its best. The watermelon agua fresca is absolutely amazing too.
