Great food; soup size is too small.

Been coming here for a while now and Purple Rice has become a go-to spot for a warm and comforting meal. Definitely one of the better Korean restaurants in the city, their soft tofu soup ranks with some of my favorites from LA's Koreatown. Solid sides and appetizers, the wings and the pancakes really stand out. So glad to have this place in the neighborhood!Wheelchair accessibility: Easy entrance and all the tables should be able to accommodate folks in wheelchairs

I think I could eat Purple Rice's Veggie Soft Tofu stew every day for the rest of my life. I've tried a number of Korean food places in the city and this has by far been the best and most consistently delicious. They're so accommodating with vegetarian/vegan modifications, service is always super quick and kind, and even the takeout is super high quality/great quantity. Their rice cakes jap chae are also delicious! Hope Purple Rice is around forever.

Simple place. Good food. We ordered the sizzling pot, mine was the Korean short ribs. A tad stingy on the amount of meat (3 small pieces) but very tasty. Might go back.

The food lacked flavor, was so disappointing small (portion-wise) and therefore overpriced. My friend and I split the seafood pancake (barely any seafood in it), the mini short rib ($33 for 6 pieces), and Japchae which was mushy, not spicy at all even tho we asked for spicy, and they charged $4 extra to add protein - we picked fried tofu and it wasn’t barely fried.. no crunch whatsoever. I’m sorry I really hate giving a bad review to a Korean restaurant but this did not feel authentic Korean food at all - definitely catered towards a yt palette if you know what I mean. They also gave us the check super early and wait staff just felt rushed to get out of there like an hour before closing. I never give out 1 stars or reviews in general but the 4.5 stars is just misleading and I’m trying to balance that scale lol.

Had the bibimbap and it was perfect. The banchan’s were less traditional and also delicious!

My favorite go-to Korean spot!! I love their chicken wings, japchae, bibimbop, and tteokbokki. The crunch of the chicken wings is insane!!! I recommend eating at the restaurant because it tastes so much better than take out! The service is great and I love the atmosphere at the restaurant.

A little easy to miss- there is no overtly large signage so its easy to pass by. We came in late-ish at 8pm where there were a decent number of people finishing up their meals. We had no trouble getting a table walking in and it was empty by the time we were done eating at 9.Get the stone pot bibimbap!!- on a cold day, this is the perfect piping hot, hearty meal to warm you up. The choice of veggies in combination with the sliced beef is a rich combination of textures and flavors alongside the gochujang, which is not at all spicy but is still an incredible enhancement. Our experience was relatively serve-your-self and minimal, walk in and sit wherever you like. Didn't have any check-ins/ no refills on water or tea, and we had to head up to the counter to checkout. Menus and food were relayed very quickly, however.

The food was really delicious and very thoughtfully packaged, with an upper ring containing all of the vegetables so it doesn't mix with the rice and the chicken. The sauce was also really nice. I do wish the rice portions were a little larger but other than that, no complaints. It was a great meal.

Purple Rice was quite tasty and had large portions. The purple rice was fun in color and crisped up nicely in the stoneware. I had the bulgogi and enjoyed it with a wide selection of banchan. The ambiance was lacking and the service was poor, but I would still go back for the food!

I stopped by and placed a take out order in person one weeknight and it came out incredibly quickly! So, if you're in any rush at all but want to dine in somewhere, definitely consider Purple Rice. I got a regular bibimbap with beef and white rice and it was alright. I loved the vegetables they chose for their bibimbap, especially wood ear fungus - one of my faves! The to-go packaging was very thoughtful and separated the rice from the toppings. It was quite empty inside that night but it was a totally random weeknight so I wouldn't read into that. Every table looked very neat and clean so I would be happy to come back knowing I could get a seat without waiting.
