About Purple Rice

Purple Rice is a neighborhood favorite, known for its comforting Korean dishes. The soft tofu soup and Veggie Soft Tofu stew are highly recommended, with many vegan options that are usually hard to find. The staff is very knowledgeable and ensures everything is vegan when requested. The food is delicious, with dishes like the veg Dolsot bibimbap with tofu and tasty sides like wings, pancakes, and jap chae. Everything has the right amount of sweet and spicy, with perfect textures. While some dishes like the sizzling pot with Korean short ribs could be more generous with portions, the food is fresh and seasoned just right. The restaurant is spacious, making it comfortable for customers, and it does not get too loud. The ambiance has nice moody lighting, simple and cutesy. Quick and kind service, along with wheelchair accessibility, make Purple Rice a go-to spot for a satisfying meal. Many customers enjoy the consistency in food quality and appreciate the friendly staff, especially for refills on banchan. Popular dishes like bibimbap, ramen, and kimchi pancake are favorites for comfort food, with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options available.

Don't find Korean vegan options too often in the states, so always excited to try a place out when I do!
Ordered The Works Bibimbop made vegan and the Veggie Jhap Chae made vegan. Both were good with the Veggie Jhap Chae more flavorful. I can't handle much spice and didn't find anything spicy. Overall, not super filling, but was an enjoyable meal out.
It gets busy and thus can also get noisy. Would recommend trying this spot out.
