I am gluten and dairy-free and often have a hard time finding places that can accommodate my dietary restrictions. This place was amazing and took me very seriously when I told them what I could and could not have. The menu was clearly marked with what items were gluten free and that is always helpful. I got the fish tacos and they were so good! The atmosphere is great because it's right on the water so the view was amazing.
Cute place, lovely food, fast and friendly service. Husband tried the gumbo and I got the fried catfish. Catfish was light, crunchy and cooked perfectly. I missed good catfish, honestly. Fries are great too. I’m not a gumbo expert but husband enjoyed it a great deal. It’s pricey in my eyes ($60 for the two meals and a couple bottles of Diet Coke). It’s the wharf though so what can you do?
Gem on the Embarcadero. Shrimp poboy was excellent - bread rivals Liedenhiemers (IYKYK). Proprietor was enthused to see a Louisiana and gave us samples of his gumbo and chowder. Both extremely good. Also gave us a order of beignets - these were over the top GOOD!
