pleasant atmosphere, attentive servers that are easy to get the attention of, and good food. our reservation was for 8pm and the server kindly informed us that the kitchen closed at 9 so ordering any extra food before then was acceptable. we first ordered the sashimi platter, dry aged ribeye, wagyu tartare, fresh oysters, and bone marrow. around halfway through our meal we also ordered the corn, more oysters, and a bowl of rice. the staff were very accomodating when we asked for plain rice around 9pm, didnt expect them to accept that order but they managed to fulfill it.
one issue we had was how long it took for the corn, dry aged rib eye, and bone marrow to arrive to our table. the sashimi, tartare, and oysters were quick, but the other three took much longer and didnt arrive until the 44 minute mark of the hour. otherwise, amazing service.
the oysters and bone marrow were our favorites, everything else was okay. the wasabi was textured and different from every other place we have dined at on the east and qest coast! truly wonder how roka akor prepares the wasabi.
the corn was good but what they dont tell you is that its corn on the cob halved. it's a little messy and personally i think cutting them lengthwise into quarters or thinner would ensure for a less messy experience for the customer so that customers can still use their chopsticks for the corn on the cob.

Perfect food. No notes. Louder atmosphere may not be optimal for conversation but not much conversation will be happening with this caliber of food.

Went because it was recommended by a friend 100$ Australia wagyu was delicious, 70$ American wagyu was not. When a steak place serves sauces with there steaks they aren’t that good. Some sort of appetizers with ginger tasted a lot like biting into ginger maybe a bad batch. We ordered something else as appetizers but can’t remember beautiful place though

It’s been over 5 yrs that I ‘ve been coming to Roka akor and I have to say they kept a great consistency with the food . Not once I felt a lack of quality or flavor. As for the service it always great.special shout out to our last visit, nothing but a warm welcome from our waiter & team.

Love this place. The Omakase is excellent and very accommodating to everyone’s preference. We had sushi and the A5 Wagu. Very well presented and explained. The staff was also great (thanks Arthur!). The venue is also very nice inside. Love the wood paneling and the unique vertical charcoal grill and kitchen you can sea from your seat. Love watching all the food being prepared.

The omakase tasting menu is really great. Highlight for the mushroom risotto that comes in one of the courses. The place is quite expensive, but it's a nice experience for a nice occasion.

I had a very disappointing experience. I took a party of seven people to dinner and the service could not have been much worse. The food was excellent, but it took forever to receive any service. There was a language barrier and they missed out on at least a bottle or two of wine and dessert because it took so long for them to pay attention to us. I may not be back.
Always a good experience! Food and service are fantastic! Staff is always good about accommodating individual needs.
The sushi wasn't that great. Quite salty and not so tasty. The ribs were pretty good but nothing special. Staff was kind and attentive. Cool vibe downstairs but overall just ok
Great ambiance, great drinks and spectacular food. Every dish is rich in flavor leaving me eager to try more. They have 2 separate dining areas, upper level being bright and perfect for families with the lower level having their bar with dim lighting and plenty of seating; if you are interested in their Happy Hour then you must dine downstairs as it is not applicable to the upstairs dining room. Depending on when you go, there can be long wait times but overall food still seemed to come out fairly quickly after ordering. Of my times of dining, I do prefer getting multiple small dishes and sharing to really take advantage and enjoy more of the menu. Personal favorites of mine will be any Lychee cocktail of theirs, the dessert platter to endulge in a variety of sweets and their 6oz Wagyu Beef with Bone Marrow. My boyfriend and I will now make any excuse to come as it has climbed the list of one of our favorite spots in the city.
Parking in the area is very limited, alot extra time for it.
