Came here for a birthday celebration and we ordered four dishes - all of which were an interesting fusion. I only wish there was a tasting menu as there are so many dishes in the menu we felt overwhelmed and weren't sure what to order - it was actually stressing us out. I'd definitely come back to try more dishes in the future.

Loved the decor and food. We ordered a lot of food. My fav was the Dahi puri which looked like cute mini flying saucers and were flavor bombs. The cheese puff was a very close second and had the lightest fluffiest crust. Kulchas were good too and the maitake mushrooms with lentils. Also liked the yogurt and burrata. Next time I go back I'd wanna try some meat dishes. Also had the bloody smash drink which was uniquely good. Service was friendly but a bit pushy to order more which was off putting.

The food was good. We started off with assorted papad with different kinds of dips. It was a great way to start off our meal and try various flavors! We also chose a small plate of chili paneer cheese puffs which were flavorful. The lamb shank with garlic naan was a great combination. We sat at the bar and the service was amazing. The bartender was extremely kind and knowledgeable. The artwork inside was beautiful as well!

Went here and had the SF restaurant week pre-fixe menu and it was fantastic!!! Definitely high end Indian food and a nicely done interior as well. The courses were well spaced throughout the meal and service was efficient and kind. The nizami sherbet was delicious and had the best presentation with smoke under the cocktail glass. The amuse bouche bonda and puri were yummy, lots of fresh crab and shrimp in the bonda. LOVED the gongura shrimp, as a telugu person I loved seeing it on the menu and enjoyed the gongura and spicy flavors. Thought the shrimp could've been cleaned just slightly better but was fresh and still good. Had the vegetarian keema pav and it was yum. Good texture, well spiced, and enjoyed the sev topping. If you hadn't told me it was impossible meat, I probably wouldn't have realized. The butter chicken (basic item yes, but yummy) was very well made. The chicken was soft and really well cooked. The star was an absolutely delicious lamb pepper fry, the pepper crust in the lamb was so hard to miss. Saffron rice was also delicious with strong saffron flavor. Garlic naan was good as well, standard. I had the coconut leches and it was SO GOOD!! Soft texture, sweet, and fresh coconut tropical flavor. Had a lovely time at rooh! A little pricey but the portions were large for upscale dining. I had to take a Togo box even.

Food was fun and interesting! The mezcal cocktail we tried (the one we had dry ice) was great! The bathroom was pretty gross, especially for a place this pricey. :(

Wow! I was so impressed with the food and presentation. Came here for restaurant week and we were so full with the portions. Would definitely recommend and would be coming back. The place has nice aesthetics and it's quite picturesque. Drinks 5/5: I got the ramus fizz and it was so good, more refreshing and a little sweet. Food 5/5: we were able to try the Cornish hen, burrata, lamb pepper fry, Dahi puri, black sheep keema, shrimp gongura, butter chicken, and paneer pinwheel and everything was so good, the spices were tasted nicely. But the paneer was a little too sweet for my liking but the naan bread does help mild it a bit. I was shocked of how good the lamb pepper fry was, it has a nice kick of spicyness so fyi.

Rooh has been on my list of restaurants to try for a long time, and the occasion finally presented itself when I was meeting a colleague who was visiting from out of town. Our visit conveniently coincided with SF Restaurant Week, so we decided to try the three-course meal with all of the greatest hits. The meal started with the avocado puri and bay shrimp & crab bonda. Both appetizers were exquisite - the puri was sweet and had a light, melt-in-your mouth texture, and the bonda reminded me of a cross between a spicy crab cake and arancini. For my next two courses, I ordered the black sheep keema (with plant-based lamb) and the kurkure maitake mushroom dish. The vegan lamb tasted very much like the real deal, and the topping of potato mousse was a very creative touch. This first course was a bit heavy but would make a good stand-alone meal or sharing plate. The maitake dish was excellent - the mushrooms were crispy and tempura-fried to perfection, and the millet was delicious to eat scooped up with the fresh garlic naan. The tres leches cake was decent, but I was already very full by the time dessert was served. When visiting Rooh, I'd highly recommend ordering several dishes and sharing them at your table so you can try a taste of everything.

Food and Ambiance was great! This was an Indian fusion place so not like a typical indian Restaurant, which made it even more interesting and I love the variety!

Extraordinary dining experience! I wanted to have Indian food for my birthday dinner, so my kids took me to Rooh in SF. It was everything I wanted! We started with cocktails, which were delicious. Then, we were served a various types of breads with different dipping sauces. Incredible! We each ordered a different entree so we could try different menu items. All were wonderful! Desserts were amazing as well! Below are a few of the menu items we had. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was happy and inviting. We also felt that the prices were reasonable for such an upscale restaurant. There is another Rooh in Palo Alto with a slightly different menu which I hope to experience in the near future!

I've been here 3 times and the food and drinks are always amazing! I watched their chef doing a cooking demo at the farmers market last year where he showcased his passion for creating food that's creative, tasty, high quality. It definitely translates over well onto the menu at Rooh. As a vegetarian, I've never had a shortage of items to try and I've never tasted something I didn't like here. The only reason I took off one star was because I came here for restaurant week, and noticed that the restaurant week menu was actually $10 more expensive than ordering the same items a la carte. I feel this was a dishonest and exploitative business tactic. Just don't participate in restaurant week then.
