This place is just not on point for me. Under seasoned food, unbalanced flavors on the mousse as far as I had to pick it apart to get flavors I actually enjoyed, strike one. Server didnt know the well gin they had, checked and came back with "It's a dry gin" strike two. Didn't even order entrees the starters were so bad, strike three. Just generally a weird vibe for the ambiance as well. It seems like a semi-poorly renovated Irish pub. Also, $45 for a corkage fee is absurd.Toast your bread so it doesn't cut my gums.Salt your butter.Get a liquor list for your tables.

Cute French restaurant with excellent food! We ordered extensively and have no regrets. Portions was great. You leave feeling like it was too little nor too much. Things we ordered: -Miyagi oyster special -Dungeness crab pave: this was a HIT. Much appreciation for the thinly sliced hasselback like potato base. So yum. -tuna sashimi: freshhhh -Hen of the woods: burst of umami. Perfection -crispy squid: perfectly crispyyyy -mushroom farro "risotto" with crispy kale and bacon: loved the flavors here! But a part of me wishes it was the real risotto. -duck confit: CRISPY SKIN. Ugh so good. Fall off the bone.l -pineapple napoleon: blown away by this as someone who does not care for napoleon at all. I liked this -chocolate mousse with coffee crumble: a tried and true fave of mine Service was attentive. Never had my glass empty. No complaints here. Would def go back. Appreciated how cute all the table ware and flatware was too.

My wife and I really enjoyed our meal at Routier. Service was timely, friendly and insightful. She helped us work around a dairy allergy, pick great food, and decide on a dessert wine. The ambience was beautiful, like a cozy but not cramped French cafe. All the food was delicious and would particularly highlight the lamb, amazing braised texture.

Soooo good!!! The waiter Declan was really nice , very attentive, and friendly. The ambience was amazing and seats were comfortable. Lots of wine options. We had the roasted Sole and Beef bavette for the main course. Roasted sole was flavorful, I was worried the truffle would be too much but it was just the right amount. Definitely a dish you never forget. You also have to try the napoleon dessert!

We had a wonderful meal here. The food has so much flavor. You can tell that they put a lot of love into creating every dish. I can't recommend it enough. The ambiance and service were both spot on. I'm planning another trip soon. Well done

Routier the absolute best place to have dinner, especially a work dinner! Flew into SF exhausted from Orange County, and my colleagues chose Routier as our spot to discuss our work initiatives. Let we say AMBIANCE!!! This place is super welcoming and cozy. The location of this place is EVERYTHING! The food is absolutely top tier, again I said top tier. The service was immaculate, and everyone was on their A game. The entire experience made me forget my travel exhaustion. Our medical executive team was extremely pleased with the service, food and of course the warm ambiance. -Suzy and the A Team!

What a great meal! Service, ambiance, and of course the fantastic food were all on point. This is a neighborhood gem. Get the crab pave, beef tartare special if available, tuna crudo, duck pate, and splurge with the bavette steak. You won't be disappointed. Dessert is also not to be missed.

Was there to celebrate a friend's birthday and they didn't do anything special for her at all. Food was under seasoned and portions were on the smaller side. Plus, the meats were overcooked and dull. Thanks, but no thanks - won't be returning.

Chic, but still casual French bistro. Dishes were all very good, especially the crab bites & lamb. Would love to see them lean into the ambiance a bit more, candles & increasing the music would enhance the cozy, intimate atmosphere.

Solid classic French bistro; a great place to go for genuine-tasting standard French food in a bistro-like setting. Crab pave and pumpkin soup were good. An otherwise straightforward duck confit and roast bavette were both exceptionally prepared. The only things we didn't much care for were the chicken liver pate (chicken scent overpowered the pate) and the red wines by the glass (the French selections were meh). All in all given the exorbitant cost of dining out in SF, a good basic French meal for the money ($240 / 2 pp).

Good restaurant and good service for the price. I'm not giving five stars due to the lack of non-alcoholic drink options. They only offer a "mocktail," which technically doesn't mean anything if not specified. Besides that, they only have drinks typically for kids. That's disappointing in 2024, when so many options are available on the market that could provide a good experience for non-drinkers.

Good perfect. Service perfect. Ambience perfect. Go now! Order everything you can. It is all delicious. Then go back once you are hungry again.

Very cozy and tasty local restaurant, with bar seating. Try to sit downstairs.

We celebrated a birthday at Routier. The meal was rich and flavorful, beautifully prepared and thoughtful served. The atmosphere was classy but not opulent. It was reasonably quiet so you could easily converse. The service was thoughtful and attentive with good recommendations.Wheelchair accessibility: There was wheelchair access including an elevator.
