Wanted a pup cup but they were all out. They offered me a free cup with whipped cream for my puppies that were waiting outside for a treat. That was super nice of them. My puppies also enjoyed the vanilla ice cream and waffle cone we shared.

I had already stopped at a chocolate store for a piece of chocolate for my dessert, but the smell coming out of Salt & Straw was so good that I couldn't help, but get a kiddie cup of their ice cream. Their ice cream is so rich and the kiddie cup is a pretty good size so highly recommend even if it's not your 2nd dessert of the evening. I had my eye on the sea salt w/ caramel ribbons, but after tasting it thought an entire (kiddie) cup of it may be too rich for my liking. And so I went with the Salted, Malted, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. So good and I managed to eat the entire kiddie cup even though I was so full! My daughter and her friend indulged in the pots of gold & rainbows, which they claimed tasted like the marshmallows in lucky charms (personally i think the best part of the cereal). I've had a lot of good ice cream in my lifetime, but this is one of the better spots and made the entire street in SF smell delicious. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

I came on a Sunday afternoon just before a big rush of people. Salt & Straw is known for their unique flavors and the staff graciously allowed me to sample multiple options. Despite feeling full, I craved a sweet treat and opted for a small kids cone, which was the perfect size. The marionberry coconut sherbet I chose was delicious - creamy yet light. I would definitely order it again!

A must in San Francisco, crazy and delicious flavors, staff willing to give you the ones you want to try and in a welcoming place with good music ? I personally loved the Peanut Butter Brownie Cereal Puffs!

Gorgeous warm spring weather called for ice cream! Stopped by for an after-dinner treat to join a line that snakes out to the sidewalk. The employees are pros at getting orders filled, so the line moved smoothly. Tried the pear blue cheese, a couple from the cereal series, and lavender honey. All were so flavorful. A few too many ice crystals, but the taste outweighed that issue. Fun, buzzy spot!

For the month of March got the OffLimits™ Zombie w/ Coconut & Pandan (v) and it was delicious! Quick and fast experience, got to try a few samples and easy to pay. No fuss kind of establishment.

SO yummy!! I got a split scoop ($7) of honey lavender and coffee love nut, and this was delicious! Quick service, cute interior, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

This was my first time coming to Salt and Straw on Hayes, and I will definitely come back more often. I was able to try all of March's limited flavors (cereal themed!) and they were all very good. The Pots of Gold was a lot lighter than I thought with nice sweetness from the charms. The Reese Puff ice cream was really peanuty and the chocolate wasn't too overpowering, I really liked it. The pandan one had a decent coconut flavor, but it wasn't my favorite. I ordered the corn flakes with marionberry jam in a cone and they shoved it to the brim! There are no other locations more generous than here. This location is very hard to beat in terms of serving size, and I will be coming back next month!

One of those regional chains you’re glad to have in your hometown. The Marionberry varieties are always a hit. Simply mouth watering vegan options, the fresh waffle cones are a must try. A++ service as always.

Perfect way to end our girls dinner date! We headed to salt and straw for a little post dinner dessert and it perfectly satisfied our craving for a sweet treat. We decided to get the chocolate brownie ice cream in a kids cup to share and we were surprised by how large the scoop was. The ice cream was super creamy and not too sweet. The brownie chunks were definitely the best part of it all. The line wasn't too long when we initially came in but it definitely went out the door a few minutes after we ordered. There is not too much seating inside so be ready to stand or walk & eat.

Always a line but still quick service, consistently so delicious. Seasonal flavor - cornflake with Marionberry jam was pretty good
