Formerly my favorite burger joint, not so much lately. They're still floating on historic reputation. Now it's a very average burger, not a particularly great deal but not terrible. Service is hit or miss. Sometimes the food comes quickly.. and sometimes not at all, they're pretty sloppy about that. Several times recently I've just not gotten my order at all and so I left. Buster's is just around the corner, a much better burger and less expensive.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Simplicity always makes a customer happy. Sam’s Burgers is an old-fashioned, no-frills restaurant in the heart of San Francisco, and we loved it!

We ordered cheeseburgers and fish & chips—both were tasty and satisfying. What surprised us most was that the same person was the cashier, chef, and server! Even with that, the service was quick and friendly.

If you’re looking for a simple, classic spot with good food and a local vibe, Sam’s is worth a visit.

I'm an Anthony Bourdain fan so I'm a little biased here but this was amazing. Respectfully AB has elite pleb taste and I love it. This probably isn't the same exact burger that AB had but it's close enough. Definitely coming here again.

Ordered a cheeseburger thru DoorDash, but got nothing on my burger (just the patty and bun). Fries sloppily put in and paper bag was wide open when given to me.

When I ate it was a very pink burger, definitely raw/undercooked. Got stomach pain the next day which progressed to bad cramps then bad diarrhea every 15 minutes.

This place is a health hazard and other reviews are saying it's very dirty also. All 5 star reviews are fake.

20$ down the drain for nothing

Sam’s Pizza & Burgers is an absolute hidden gem! I stopped by for a double cheeseburger and fries, and wow, they delivered in every way possible. The burger was cooked to perfection, juicy with the perfect amount of melted cheese, and the fresh toppings brought everything together. You can taste the quality in every bite. The fries were crispy and hot, exactly how they should be. The service was friendly and quick, even during a busy lunch rush, which was a big plus. If you’re looking for a classic burger joint that gets it right, Sam’s is where it’s at. 5 stars all the way!

Sam’s Cheeseburger — famously known as Anthony Bourdain’s favorite in San Francisco — did not disappoint. 🍔 No frills, no fancy toppings, just a perfectly executed classic in its purest form. Simple, honest, and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend as a late-night stop when you’re in the city. 🌉✨

Love the atmosphere and that is stays open late. Don’t quite get the hype about the burger, but the food is good for the price.

Burgers are fine, nothing special, tastes like normal store bought patties (sitting at the counter you can occasionally see the patties are pre packaged, as are the fried fish and shrimp) cooked on a grill. Went here because they were open late, but not a place that I'd prioritize during the day.
