I visited Sawaan a couple months ago now and I still remember the fondness I felt after leaving the meal. They are a new modern Thai restaurant with a fresh take on a thai cuisine menu and trendy decor. The staff here are so sweet and considerate.
We ordered the tofu cloud, spicy drunken heaven, and the lemongrass catfish. The tofu cloud came with this thick and sweet peanut sauce. I enjoyed the aromatics in the drunken noodles. Our favorite was definitely the catfish. Make sure to eat everything while it is hot! You can taste the freshness in the catfish.
Food is most important at a restaurant, yet I’d like to highlight how well decorated Sawaan is. They put a lot of effort in the design choices from the ceramics to the light fixtures to the menu.

One of my new favorite restaurants in the bay! Everything we had was 10/10. The service was also lovely (attentive but not disruptive). We had the cloud ring, golden massaman chicken curry, and spicy drunken heaven. Ambiance was warm with holiday decorations and they have the comfiest chairs! Can’t wait to come back and try more things.

Nice Thai place with an edgy menu. You can get all the usual Thai dishes here, but then they have some different menu items. Everything we had was very good. As of the beginning of November when we went they were still waiting on their alcohol license so they weren't serving any beer, but we got their Thai iced tea that was really delicious. I would go back.

Very good food and service! They were gracious enough to accomodate our large group just a few hours ahead of time. The raw crab was addicting.

I had a great time at Sawaan and I’ll be coming back. The flavors of the food were great, and definitely more vibrant than most other Thai restaurants I go to. The mango sticky rice tea was also really good. It somehow replicated the flavors without having sugar.
My one nitpick would be the cost to portion sizes are a bit pricy. The noodle and chicken dish we got tasted great but was a little light on actual chicken. The tea cups are also super small, and while staff fills it with water for free it’s a hassle to refill more than once.
That aside, 5/5 flavors, good service, would recommend trying it out.

Creative and different thai dishes. Excellent tasting and so well balanced. The strawberry salad is nothing I’ve had before and so unexpectedly delicious! Tom Kha was also so good and drunken noodles well cooked and sauced.

Will be back to try some other dishes

This is a fairly new modem Thai restaurant and it was fun to try. My favorite dishes were the Cloud Ring and the Super Zap Soup. I also ordered the Lemongrass Fish and the Grilled Tongue of the Gods. The Could Ring is fried shrimp and it was fried perfectly. The soup was very tasty with beef tendon, albeit very spicy because I asked for it. 😬 The Lemongrass Fish was okay and the same with the Grilled Tongue. You gotta eat the food quickly or else the texture changes when it gets cold. I would like to come back to try other menu items.

Wow amazing new spot, must try. So delicious and interesting/just experimental enough but still comforting and filling. We got the golden masamun, crab fried rice, and tofu cloud - all 3 were bomb.
