Adorable Fluffy Cakes and Classic Treats 🍰🥭
Schubert’s Bakery is the perfect place to go for classic and cute cakes. They never miss; their cakes are light and flavorful with the perfect frosting-to-cake ratio. I always get their mango mousse cake which is wonderfully fruity and airy without being too sweet. The chocolate cakes are rich and their princess cakes are neat and jammy. This place is a tried and true spot with reliable sweet treats. They always top them with adorable white chocolate candies and dainty icing. I would recommend this place to any cake lover; the perfect spot for an afternoon treat or a pick-up for a special occasion!

We stopped by Schubert's on a whim and tried their pretzel croissant and custard croissant. The croissants were ok. However, we saw a lot of locals coming in to pick up cakes so I wonder if they are more known for their cakes. They had the cakes in a variety of different sizes. I would have tried a Princess Cake but they didn't have that as an individual serving.

They said the princess cake is the best. It’s the best. Cream is light. Cake is moist. Jam cuts through. The marzipan is the perfect amount. AND it’s beautifully, elegantly decorated. Forgot to take a before picture.

Amazingly light and fresh strawberry shortcake birthday cake! One of the best cakes I've had in San Francisco! The cream could have been a little less and cake proportion a little more though.
First time buyer at Schubert’s and will absolutely be a returning customer! My partner loved his cake. I got him the Tiramisu cake and everyone was crazy about it. So delicious and loved the touches of the red ribbon wrapped around it and they wrote a happy birthday note on the cake as well at check out.
10/10 !!

Went to get a birthday cake, have had them from there before and they’re great. In particular, I just want to give a shout out to the staff. They were so friendly and helpful and the store is so well kept. It’s so refreshing to have that kind of experience, honestly it made my day so thanks Schubert’s!

The princess cake was so irresistibly yummy that I went back for seconds after eating the first piece. It was a fan favorite at Thanksgiving!

You just lost a long time customer. Asking $2 for birthday greeting on the cake while I am paying $60 for 10” cake. No thank you and never visit the store again.
This black forest cherry cake was amazing and was the perfect dessert for our Oktoberfest party!

Haven't been to this place in a year and was unpleasantly surprised by the changes! The selection of items is no longer what it used to be. Many iconic items such as the small lemon tarts, lemon mousse cake, and various cookies with jam or almonds are no longer produced. Even the boxes where desserts are packaged are no longer the same. They look less classy than the old cream and gold boxes and their quality is also inferior. They now charge for shopping bags despite the exorbitant prices, which grew exponentially in the last several years. But the worst change is the quality of the products. I was there recently and got a chocolate mousse cake with shavings and a fruit tart. The tart had hair in it, which was really disgusting. This has never happened before and attests to the poor quality control practices! The chocolate mousse tasted nothing like the recipe they used before! Sub-standard ingredients were used, it had virtually no chocolate shavings on the sides, and only 4 raspberries, where as before each slice had a raspberry. The cream was awful, as was the dough! This is not what I expect from a premiere SF bakery! It seems that the overall SF trend for sky high prices coupled with lack of standards, and poor quality control has affected this place as well. This is really disappointing! I would like to pose a question to their current owners/operators: What are you thinking and also how do you view your patrons, people who have supported your business for decades?! The reasons they came to this bakery, were quality control, great customer service (they even picked up the phone, which doesn't happen now), consistently high quality of your products. Do you really think that people/patrons won't notice or be ok with essentially being cheated??? Do you think they won't be able to tell the difference between the standards and recipes you used before vs. the plummeting quality of your products now, that do not adhere to the same ingredients, recipes, and standards, and for which you have the nerve to raise prices constantly? I can tell you that I won't be shopping @ Schubert's, unless you change everything to the way it was before!
