I thought I was going to be bummed by the quality of the good because the branding is so hipster, but it is shockingly good. Can't speak to authenticity (whatever that is), but it's flavorful and fresh, reasonably priced, etc. Have gotten it to go and eaten with a beer at 540 Rogues across the street.
This is one of my favorite places to treat myself after a tough day of work. Prices are pretty fair for the quality of dishes and ingredients.My favorites dishes are the Mapo Tofu, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Tomato Garlic Chow Mein. I haven't tried the other dishes but I'm sure they're great. Great restaurant. Highly recommend the Lazi chicken and the mapo tofu. Fresh, fairly priced, and most importantly, delicious. I will never understand the people in the reviews that go to a Chinese American restaurant and then complain that the food isn’t “authentic” enough. The food at Mamahuhu is clearly (predominantly) Chinese American and they do it very well.
